In the aftermath of the interview given by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Oprah Winfrey at least two high profile British talk show hosts have lost their jobs. British television personality Piers Morgan, a known Meghan Markle opponent, walked away from his spot at Good Morning Britain on air to never return to the show. His decision came as a result of an argument over Meghan Markle. Where Piers has been accused of being a racist. Sheryl Underwood and Sharon Osborne debated essentially both topics in a confrontation that saw Sharon leave The Talk.
Underwood and Osborne have not spoken since the incident. As was mentioned before, ultimately CBS mentioned that Sharon’s behavior “did not align with their values”. In her podcast Underwood recalls the incident in detail. One of the first things that Underwood mentions is that she very quickly realized that the exchange with Osborne could go bad. In her words she tried to,
“Put it in its proper order, be very calm, but there were a few people that criticized me on that”
She later said that she had not spoken to Osborne since the incident. On the situation she mentioned
“I’m very disappointed. And I’m just trying to navigate my feelings about that because it was a trauma.”
Although both Sharon and Sheryl have admitted that they have not spoken to each other since the incident they both professed love for each other. In Sheryl’s podcast episode that she dedicated virtually entirely to the issue she mentioned.
“Maybe people don’t want to hear me say, ‘I still love the Osbournes.’ I’m not saying I liked being treated the way I was treated,”
In the podcast Underwood did hint at the fact that she was warned of Sharon’s views and behavior before she even came on the show.
British TV personality Piers Morgan was indirectly involved in the incident. Since, his comments were the first to spark the flame of the conversation. Piers came out in defense of Osborne. In an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News. Here he mentioned.
“Rather than Sheryl Underwood apologizing to me, who is accusing me falsely of being a racist, Sharon had to apologize for her passionate defense of me. And then she lost her job anyway.”

Since the issue there had been a lot of speculation over whether or not the producers of the show had actually staged the argument between Osborne and Underwood. In the podcast Underwood categorically denies those claims. She mentioned that in fact she was moderating the segment. From her end there were no cue cards that promoted any type of argument with Osborne. It was a real argument where both sides put forth their personal beliefs.
