Shane Smith's wife filed for dissolution of marriage on April 2, 2021 and the media executive has yet to respond to the filing.
In 2015, Smith was named one of 'Canada's Richest People' by Canadian Business after his media empire and earnings valued his net worth to be near $1.27 BILLION.
As we said, the couple announced they were selling their sprawling Santa Monica, CA estate -- which the couple purchased only six years ago for $23 million. According to reports, the property was made famous after it was used in 'Beverly Hills Cop' -- but not updated for many years. Smith's wife told the Wall Street Journal, the couple had to replace “all the plumbing, all the electrical” along with giving the property an entire facelift.

Shane Smith co-founded 'Vice' in the 1990s and stepped down as Cheif Executive Officer in 2018 amid ongoing controversy over the company's culture.
As you know, VICE Media officially launched VICELAND with an investment by Disney and A&E. Disney subsequently increased their stake in VICE Media with two $200 million investments.
It's unclear if the couple has a prenuptial agreement, and not much is known about their early relationship -- but if not, this could turn out to be a massive separation of community property.

At this point, the couple has not publically commented on their ongoing divorce -- but, Shane did post a message on Valentine's Day alongside a picture of his daughter.
"Happy Valentine's errybody. My special valentine is proof positive that god exists. Why? Cuz she is my angel from heaven," he wrote. Again, it's unclear exactly when the couple split.
As for Smith's role at the massive media company, it was announced as Executive Chairman, "Smith will now be focused on creating content and strategic deals and partnerships to help grow the company." The New York Times called the 'VICE' boss "a cross between a punk rocker and Fortune 500 Executive".
The divorce case is ongoing.
