Kelly Clarkson Suffers Cheese Malfunction In Tight Peasant Dress

Kelly Clarkson has personally delivered a "not to self" – no "smoked gouda before rehearsal" were the words from the 38-year-old today, with a video shared to her Instagram bringing some humor and some cheese as "The Voice" judge posted a coaching clip from the competition series. The "American Idol" OG, who has made headlines of late for time off the series while being sick, was today back to belting out numbers, but not without a little malfunction as she wore a string-style, plunging, and peasant-look dress. Scroll for the video, one that came with Kelly and a competitor working on British hit-maker Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud." The video showed Kelly in the studio and delivering her own rendition of the British singer's hit track – "Honey nowwwww," she started singing after saying she'd like more "ache" from her singer.

"Sorry...ugghhh," Kelly continued, interrupted by her own need to clear her throat. "Sorry. I shouldn't have eaten cheese last night, apparently," she added: "But it was worth it."

Kelly, who confirmed "it was a nice smoked gouda," then took to her caption, big-time repping the European cheeses and writing: "Note to self: No smoke gouda before rehearsal. Totally worth it though. #TeamKelly #TheVoice."

"I'm SO EXCITED," a fan replied, barely even seeming to notice the video. "Girl you still sing GOOD!" another wrote. "Cheese is always worth it," a third added, although one fan seemed to think the blonde was choking up with peanut butter. See more photos after the video.

Kelly has been a no-show on the NBC series since her March 22 announcement, one confirming she'd be taking time away.

“Kelly is staying at home but she’s watching the battles remotely, and we were very lucky enough to get her good friend and our good friend, [Kelsea Ballerini]," host Carson Daly said, with 27-year-old "Hole In The Bottle" singer Kelsea proving mighty popular as she filled in for Clarkson. Kelly, fresh from her divorce and launching more homeware with Wayfair, has been thanking Kelsea for filling her shoes. "The Kelly Clarkson Show" host wrote: “Thank you so much @KelseaBallerini for sitting in for me while I was feeling under the weather!” adding: “I know my team is in great hands with you!! Y'all aren't going to want to miss this!! The battles start next week on @NBCTheVoice!”
