Shannon Beador And Ex John Janssen Still Slugging It Out In Court Amid His Engagement

John Janssen didn't get the chance to fully enjoy his engagement bliss as his ex, Shannon Beador, filed new allegations against him.

The "Real Housewives of Orange County" star recently slammed her former lover for spreading lies with his promissory fraud lawsuit. She argued that their relationship was based on a financial give-and-take dynamic.

Shannon Beador and John Janssen ended their longtime romance in 2023, with the latter moving on with his ex's "RHOC" co-star, Alexis Bellino. The couple announced their engagement before Beador's new filing.

Beador gave Janssen an unexpected engagement gift by filing new claims against him. She doubled down on her stance to have his promissory fraud lawsuit thrown out of court, denying his allegations of a $75,000 loan.

The Bravolebrity's attorney claimed she did not owe her ex a single penny, given their alleged history of supporting each other financially. The legal rep's argument read:

"[John] and [Shannon] were in a romantic relationship for over 4 years. During the relationship, the parties regularly shared their finances and assisted each other with certain financial contributions."

The documents obtained by In Touch continued: "After the relationship soured and eventually ended, [John] now claims that $75,000 he provided Defendant during the relationship were loans, subject to specific yet unidentified loan terms such as interest, attorney fees, repayment timing and the like."

A month before her new filing, The Blast reported that Beador had moved to dismiss Janssen's lawsuit and his request for punitive damages and attorney fees. Her legal team argued that he had insufficient evidence to back his allegations, stating:

"Mr. Janssen's request for punitive damages is warranted by the facts and claims alleged in the [complaint], which sufficiently allege malice and fraud by alleging that [Shannon] acted with the intent to induce Mr. Janssen to rely on her misrepresentations to defraud Mr. Janssen."

However, Janssen fired back at her petition with claims of intentional deception. His attorney noted that Beador convinced him to loan her money she never intended to repay despite promising to cover her debts.

In her motion to dismiss Janssen's lawsuit, Beador described the alleged loan as a "gift," a term her ex's lawyer saw as another attempt to escape accountability. Part of their rebuttal read:

"[Shannon] knew when she made her false promises and representations that [Shannon] did not intend to pay for such services."

"She never intended to follow through on her promises. For example, in an attempt to avoid her obligations to repay the Loans, [Shannon] now asserts that the Loans were a 'gift' from Mr. Janssen, which is completely false," the statement continued.

The legal drama between Beador and Janssen began earlier this year, with the latter alleging he borrowed his ex $75,000 for a facelift. He recalled loaning her $40,000 on January 23, 2022, and $35,000 on May 20, 2022.

Janssen claimed she agreed to repay the sum with interest but repeatedly failed to compensate him despite multiple requests in 2023 and 2024. However, Beador argued that she tried to pay him, but he refused "because he didn't want to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement."

"What am I supposed to do? Say, 'Here's all this money that you claim that I owe you, and go ahead. Say whatever you want about me.' No," the Bravolebrity claimed, "My attorney said I can't let you do that, so I have to now go to trial."

Beador's new filing against Janssen came at the heels of his engagement to her "RHOC" co-star, Alexis Bellino. The Blast shared that she announced the big news on Instagram with an endearing picture of the pair.

Bellino flashed a bright smile at her beau in the snap, with Janssen looking equally pleased, but their happiness wasn't the only eye-catching detail. On the Bravolebrity's ring finger was a massive cushion-cut diamond.

Bellino raved about her new fiancée status in the post's caption, writing: "On Cloud 9. Celebrating 9 months of love and laughter, and looking forward to my forever with you."

"Every moment together has been a gift. I am so in love with you and the beautiful life we're building together. And the answer is 100000000% yes," she added.
