Nick Carter is accusing his sexual assault accuser, Shannon Ruth, of fraud, claiming she allegedly fabricated a story about needing emergency surgery to gain sympathy and credibility in court.

This explosive accusation comes as the two continue their legal battle over an alleged sexual assault that Ruth claims occurred on a tour bus back in 2001.

Focused on proving his innocence, Nick Carter is leaving no stone unturned in his efforts to have Samantha Ruth's lawsuit dismissed.

In a shocking new court filing, the singer claimed to have "additional evidence" proving Ruth's "dishonest and fraudulent behavior."

According to Carter, Ruth misled members of a sexual assault survivor support group, operated by actress and abuse advocate Alexa Nikolas, into donating money for a "fake emergency surgery."

Carter's legal team alleged in the filing that Ruth solicited donations from the group, claiming "she needed urgent health surgery and a biopsy and may be suffering from thyroid cancer."

In the documents obtained by In Touch, the TV personality's legal team argue that Ruth betrayed the trust of the survivor community and undermined her own claims against Carter.

The statement read, "[Shannon] therefore defrauded the very 'sisterhood' community of sexual assault victims in which she claims to be part of based on a factually impossible sexual assault by Nick Carter."

The Singer's Legal Team Claims Ruth Used Fraudulent Funds for Lavish Travel

Carter's legal team leveled serious fraud accusations against Ruth, claiming she misused funds meant for medical expenses on luxury travel instead.

The court filing read, "Alexa specifically uncovered receipts showing trips to hotels conveniently next to [Shannon's] attorney's office in California and where her friend was taking the bar exam in the same time frame as her 'surgery' was to be taking place."

The motion further revealed that Ruth insisted on keeping the funds hidden, allegedly to prevent Carter from discovering her financial activities.

The legal team also disclosed that when Nikolas confronted Ruth about the misuse of funds, she admitted to mishandling the donations and promised to repay them—a promise Carter's filing claims Ruth never fulfilled.

Carter Previously Challenged His Accuser's Credibility

Carter and his legal team's recent statements follow his earlier criticism of Ruth for of forgetting answers to over 100 questions during the deposition process.

The Blast reported that the 44-year-old's lawyers stated that Ruth could not provide details beyond what her legal team had written in her complaint and interrogatory responses.

During the deposition, Ruth reportedly claimed she "did not remember" 146 times and stated she "did not know" on 64 occasions.

Carter's legal team argued that her inability to recall specific details made her testimony appear fabricated and lacking any real evidentiary support, further fueling the actor's efforts to dismiss her allegations entirely.

The 'Now Or Never' Artist Claims Accusers Conspired To Extort Him

Since the time Ruth claimed Carter assaulted her after a concert in Washington in 2001, the star has firmly denied all allegations. In the lawsuit filed in 2022, Ruth alleged that Carter forced her to perform oral sex on him in a bus bathroom.

She accused the father-of-three of continuing the assault in his bed, an encounter she says left her with an HPV infection despite being a virgin before the incident.

Carter's legal team dismissed these claims and asserted that Ruth conspired with a second accuser, Melissa Schuman, and her father, in a plot to extort Carter.

In January, The Blast reported that the Backstreet Boys singer responded to the sexual assault allegations by filing a defamation lawsuit against his accusers.

Carter declared he would not allow his name to be tarnished by what he called "opportunists." He also refused to negotiate with the alleged victims, which he claims only intensified their harassment.

Carter's lawsuit seeks $2,350,000 in damages, including compensation for emotional distress, punitive damages, and attorney's fees.

In his filing, Carter named Shannon Ruth, Melissa Schuman Henschel, Jerome Schuman, A.R., and the Twitter account holder known as Doe @ElaineMoo as co-conspirators.

Carter alleges that this group has been working together to "extort" money from him and damage his reputation.
