Jenna Ortega turned heads at the premiere of "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" in a stunning sheer evening gown that left everyone in awe.
The actress, who portrays Lydia’s daughter Astrid Deetz in the highly anticipated sequel, dazzled in a red-hot Dior Haute Couture dress that paid homage to the iconic wedding scene from the original 1988 film.
Jenna Ortega’s elegant look was complemented by Dior Joaillerie accessories, making her red-carpet appearance one for the books.
Dior Ambassador Enrique Melendez Does It Again!
Dior ambassador Enrique Melendez has been paying homage to the original "Beetlejuice" film on her press tour.
She continued the trend with a show-stopping Dior Haute Couture red tulle dress that Ortega wore at the Palazzo del Cinema in Italy. "Beetlejuice" fans notice the nod to the 1988 wedding scene featuring Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz and Michael Keaton’s in the original.
Ortega completed the look with a Bois de Rose necklace, bracelet, and white and pink gold rings with diamonds.
Jenna Ortega Wears Dramatic Smoky Red Eye To 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' Premiere
She complemented her striking red dress with a dramatic smoky red eye and a bold red lip. She styled her hair in a sophisticated low bun, with her bangs loosely hanging and framing her face.
Ahead of the Venice premiere, Ortega revealed that the "Beetlejuice" offer came shortly after the premiere of "Wednesday." Tim Burton reached out to her, inviting her to a meeting under the pretense of discussing "Wednesday" Season 2.
“So I went [to the meeting] with all these notes and all these ideas of where the show could go and he just popped the 'Beetlejuice' script in front of me and I said, ‘Oh, OK, cool, that’s interesting. He was, ‘No pressure, no pressure,’” Ortega recalled in an interview with BuzzFeed.
“Then I got in my car and I drove five minutes down the road, parked on the side of the highway and sat on some rocks, and I read the entire script and said, ‘Yeah, I’m probably going to want to do this,’” she added.
Jenna Ortega Stuns In Backless Red Dress
The gown featured a bodice that draped in a heart shape down to her belly button, revealing her torso. Delicate spaghetti straps held the design in place, leaving the back completely open.
The dress's skirt was a puffy floor-length tulle tutu, which was partially see-through despite its airy layers. Beneath, Ortega wore matching red shorts for added flair.
The "Wednesday" actress kept the red theme going with silky sky-high platforms.
Winona Ryder was also at the premiere, who opted for a Chanel skirt suit that included a cropped blazer and vest with buttons, paired with a white button-up shirt and a floor-length skirt.
Jenna Ortega Talks 'Beetlejuice' Sequel
When speaking with Vanity Fair earlier this year, Jenna Ortega described her "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" character, Astrid, as “weird, but in a different way and not in the way you’d assume, I would say.”
“The relationship between Lydia and Astrid, my character, is very important,” she said. “And it’s also really strange because it’s a lot of catching up and putting the pieces together of what’s gone on in Lydia’s life since, which is nice, I think, for anybody who loves the character and is excited to see her again.”
“I feel like studios nowadays, of course they want people in seats and you’ve got to do reboots or sequels or things like that to get people entwined," Ortega added."But to bring ‘Beetlejuice’ back — of all of the stories –is so good because people need to revisit weird, strange, off-putting stories again."
"We need to introduce the younger generation that’s always on the phone to new artistic and creative ideas," she continued. "The weirder you get with it, the more people you can get to see it, I think will probably do a lot for film in general.”
