She complemented her striking red dress with a dramatic smoky red eye and a bold red lip. She styled her hair in a sophisticated low bun, with her bangs loosely hanging and framing her face.

Ahead of the Venice premiere, Ortega revealed that the "Beetlejuice" offer came shortly after the premiere of "Wednesday." Tim Burton reached out to her, inviting her to a meeting under the pretense of discussing "Wednesday" Season 2.

“So I went [to the meeting] with all these notes and all these ideas of where the show could go and he just popped the 'Beetlejuice' script in front of me and I said, ‘Oh, OK, cool, that’s interesting. He was, ‘No pressure, no pressure,’” Ortega recalled in an interview with BuzzFeed.

“Then I got in my car and I drove five minutes down the road, parked on the side of the highway and sat on some rocks, and I read the entire script and said, ‘Yeah, I’m probably going to want to do this,’” she added.

The gown featured a bodice that draped in a heart shape down to her belly button, revealing her torso. Delicate spaghetti straps held the design in place, leaving the back completely open.

The dress's skirt was a puffy floor-length tulle tutu, which was partially see-through despite its airy layers. Beneath, Ortega wore matching red shorts for added flair.

The "Wednesday" actress kept the red theme going with silky sky-high platforms.

Winona Ryder was also at the premiere, who opted for a Chanel skirt suit that included a cropped blazer and vest with buttons, paired with a white button-up shirt and a floor-length skirt.

When speaking with Vanity Fair earlier this year, Jenna Ortega described her "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" character, Astrid, as “weird, but in a different way and not in the way you’d assume, I would say.”

“The relationship between Lydia and Astrid, my character, is very important,” she said. “And it’s also really strange because it’s a lot of catching up and putting the pieces together of what’s gone on in Lydia’s life since, which is nice, I think, for anybody who loves the character and is excited to see her again.”

“I feel like studios nowadays, of course they want people in seats and you’ve got to do reboots or sequels or things like that to get people entwined," Ortega added."But to bring ‘Beetlejuice’ back — of all of the stories –is so good because people need to revisit weird, strange, off-putting stories again."

"We need to introduce the younger generation that’s always on the phone to new artistic and creative ideas," she continued. "The weirder you get with it, the more people you can get to see it, I think will probably do a lot for film in general.”
