The actress was featured in a Vogue "73 questions" interview in July 2014, during which she was asked a series of rapid-fire questions by an interviewer and gave swift answers.

One of the questions was about what movie made Lively "laugh the hardest through," and her immediate response was a nonchalant "Shawshank Redemption."

The unexpected response made the interviewer laugh before he moved to the next question on the list. However, Lively's decision to name "Shawshank Redemption" is odd due to the themes of the film.

The 1994 prison film follows the lives of a banker (played by Tim Robbins), who receives a life sentence for killing his wife and her lover but insists he's innocent.

The criticism of Lively's old interviews started after the "Gossip Girl" actress received scrutiny for not discussing the domestic violence themes of "It Ends With Us."

Instead, the actress seemingly used her press stops to promote her new hair care line, Blake Brown Beauty, and her floral style for the film's promo.

After that, clips from old interviews resurfaced, starting with a post from Norwegian reporter Kjersti Flaa.

In 2016, Flaa and Lively had an interview for "Café Society," during which the reporter congratulated the actress on her "little baby bump." However, Lively responded with a seemingly rude comment, sarcastically saying, "Congrats on your little bump."

Flaa captioned the interview on YouTube with, "The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job."

Another interview that went viral was a conversation Lively had with Elle Magazine, where she repeatedly used a transgender slur while talking about her future kids.

A quote posted on X read, "I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they better be tr-nnies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated."

Amid the online backlash, Lively is said to be in a rumored feud with her "It Ends With Us" co-star Justin Baldoni.

The rumors began when Baldoni noticeably didn't make any press appearances with his co-stars despite being both the director and a male lead in the film.

When the movie finally premiered, Baldoni further raised fan suspicion by opting out of all red-carpet appearances alongside Lively.

The "Jane the Virgin" Star has since hired Melissa Nathan, the crisis public relations manager who represented Johnny Depp during the infamous Amber Heard trial.

Lively allegedly believed her role in the new movie was going to be "her moment to shine" but is now worried that it may just leave her career hanging in the balance.

"Blake is definitely saddened by the hate she is getting and is trying not to let it affect her, but it is," the source said. "She thought this was her moment to shine but is now looking at it like the end of her career. She's fearing no one will want to work with her after this."

"She really wants to continue producing and directing and acting but she knows she needs to take a step back for a minute to reassess the future," they added.
