King Charles III and other royal family members seem to be done with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's controversies and are now turning their focus to the future of the British Monarchy.
According to a new report, the king, his wife, Queen Camilla, and several prominent royal family members are currently at Balmoral Palace, where they're discussing the best way forward.
Prince Harry's position as fifth in line to the throne could be threatened, especially as he renounced his British residency earlier this year.
King Charles Is Shifting Focus From Harry And Meghan As He 'Moves Forward' With The 'Next Generation' Of Royals
King Charles and Queen Camilla are discussing the future of the British Monarchy with their family while enjoying the summer at Balmoral Palace.
According to a new report from The Express, Charles hosted a gathering of his closest family members at the Scottish residence earlier this month, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were a topic.
During the gathering, Charles reportedly outlined the future of Harry and Meghan's relationship with the royal family, and sources in the palace claim The Firm now intends to shift its focus to the younger generation of royals.
One source said, "The strategy now is to move away from focusing on what the Sussexes are doing and place an emphasis on the next generation of royals. There is very much a feeling of not dwelling on the past but moving forward with the assets they've got which are the younger members of the royal family."
They added, "King Charles is very aware that the younger generation is the future of the monarchy and his focus is to ensure that its legacy remains once he has gone — and that can be secured in the Wales era."
The King Is Considering Creating New Unofficial Roles
Other royals present at Balmoral include Prince William and Kate Middleton, Princess Anne, her daughter Zara Tindall, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Edward and Sophie.
Harry and Meghan's invitation snub from the Royal reunion did not go unnoticed, with experts saying it's a sign of the deepening divide.
According to the New York Post, sources also revealed that as Charles reconsiders the line of succession to the throne, he's also thinking about creating unofficial roles in The Firm.
This would include positions for figures like Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, the Tindall children, possibly extend to Lady Louise Windsor and her brother James Wessex.
The source said, "The future of the royal family doesn't just hinge on the Wales family. But also on other members of the royal family that hold a visible profile in this country and around the world. It's all about building a brand and the family recognizes that."
Prince Harry's Position In The Line Of Succession May Be Threatened
Last week, reports surfaced that Harry's status as fifth in line to the throne could be under threat, especially as the Duke has renounced his British residency earlier this year.
At the time, Harry spoke at Travalyst's Annual General Meeting and presented company returns filed with his "new details."
According to the documents obtained by the DailyMail, Harry declared in the filings that his "new country/state" was the "United States" and no longer the United Kingdom.
Now, sources close to Charles claim that the king is considering removing Harry and Meghan completely from the line of succession.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are 'Desperate' For Peace Talks With The Royal Family
The news of King Charles focusing on the next generation came amid reports that Harry and Meghan are pushing for peace talks with the royal family, with the hope of finally resolving their feud.
Charles was also reportedly open to reconnecting with them after receiving counsel from religious leaders and gaining "spiritual nourishment."
A source told the Daily Mail, "It seems quite clear that they are desperate to start healing the rift."
Another told The Times that although Charles is considering it, several family members are wary and worried that any discussions would appear in the couple's future memoir.
They said, "The problem for the king and other members of the family is the worry that if they have a chat with Harry, it will appear in a Spare volume two. How do you regain the trust? I don't think Harry ever can. But from the conversations I've had with the king, I would never say their relationship is irreparable."
The King Is Open To A 'Truce' With Prince Harry
According to the Daily Mail, an insider disclosed that King Charles has been seeking guidance from religious leaders, which has given him a newfound sense of "spiritual nourishment" and made him more willing to fix the rift between him and Prince Harry.
Like his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, Charles has remained faithful to his Christian beliefs and has reportedly explored its theological aspects and core tenets - including forgiveness.
"Faith has always been a part of Charles's life and something he's explored, but since becoming King, it is playing a more central role," the insider shared. "That reliance on faith and quiet contemplation has become a comfort and asset to him and helps him cope with the role as he adapts to being King."
