King Charles III reportedly plans to extend an olive branch to his second son, Prince Harry, following a period of introspection and spiritual counseling from religious leaders.

The father and son have been estranged since the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, left their royal roles and made several troubling allegations against the royal family.

King Charles' eldest son, Prince William, has also shunned all efforts to reunite with Prince Harry and allegedly does not want the duke at his coronation.

According to the Daily Mail, a well-placed source disclosed that the monarch has been seeking guidance from religious leaders, which has provided him with a newfound sense of "spiritual nourishment" and a willingness to mend the fractured relationship with his youngest son.

Like his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, Charles has remained faithful to his Christian beliefs and has reportedly explored its theological aspects and core tenets - including forgiveness.

"Faith has always been a part of Charles's life and something he's explored, but since becoming King, it is playing a more central role," the insider shared. "That reliance on faith and quiet contemplation has become a comfort and asset to him and helps him cope with the role as he adapts to being King."

Harry seemingly soured relations with his father when he made several damning accusations in his 2023 memoir "Spare," in which he called Camilla his "wicked stepmother" and "the other woman."

The duke also claimed in a TV interview that two royal family members had shown contempt for the skin color of his son, Prince Archie.

Despite the Sussexes' feud with the royal family, Charles seems to have maintained his love for his son Harry.

The insider also noted that Charles "misses his son," whose calls to his ailing father have reportedly gone unanswered recently.

"He still loves Harry and wants him back for personal reasons – regardless that he and Meghan do not [want to] return to royal life," the source said, per the Daily Mail.

"Harry will always be Charles's much-loved son. He has faith that Harry could return. He misses the bond they once had, and the door will always remain open to him and his family. He does not want years of discord and disharmony clouding his reign," they added.

It remains to be seen how a reunion between the father and son would pan out, as his eldest son, Prince William, is reportedly unkeen to settle scores with Harry.

William's stance on Harry not returning to the royal family is well documented as they're said to have stayed out of touch for more than two years.

According to the Sunday Times, as heir to the throne, the Prince of Wales has shared his intentions for his coronation to "look and feel different" and doesn't want Harry to be present.

However, royal expert Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," has shared his hopes that William will not sideline his younger brother on his big day.

"Despite all the bad blood between the brothers, I'm convinced that, when the time does come, William will not be foolish enough to exclude his only sibling, now fifth in line to the throne, from his coronation," Andersen said.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News that the future King is taking a no-nonsense approach to his feud with Harry and has placed an "absolute ban" on his return to the royal family. However, he's unlikely to go into a war of words with King Charles over Harry.

"It is widely known within the family that Prince William has laid down an absolute ban on Harry returning in any way, shape, or form into his former royal family fold," she told the news outlet.

Fordwich continued, "If anyone will relent, it would be King Charles, whom, of course, Prince William won't challenge, who still misses his 'darling boy' and would like to see more of Prince Harry."

"However, to this day, after the release of 'Spare' and the Netflix serial, as well as with everything else Harry has said, done, and not done, it's Prince William who adamantly refuses to even speak to his brother" she added.

Meanwhile, talks of Harry and Meghan's possible return to the UK continue to surface after the couple recently returned from a Colombia tour.

Harry is said to be unexcited about bringing his family back to his country over his security issues, and his wife has reportedly given him a "major condition" that must be met if she's to make the trip.

Royal author and expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror, "Meghan has said she's only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential. Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband's relatives."

He added, "If the couple manage to find a permanent home and sort out the security issue, they will certainly want to bring their children to the UK, but it's going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis."
