Everyone is waiting to hear if a Season 3 of the hit television show "Big Little Lies" is actually happening--Zoë Kravitzincluded.

"Big Little Lies" first premiered on HBO in February 2017 and quickly gained a large following. The series is set in Monterey, California, and revolves around a group of women whose seemingly perfect lives unravel amidst a murder investigation.

When speaking to People Magazine, the actress admitted that she is "waiting to see" if a third season is happening, just "like everybody else."

"[I'm] waiting by the phone, waiting for the script to be done,” Kravitz added.

Both Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, who star and serve as executive producers on the show, confirmed that another season is definitely happening, though no other concrete details were given. “We’re at work on it,” Kidman, who plays Celeste Wright, told Variety in January 2024. “And there’s a timeline and we’re doing it.”

Witherspoon, who plays Madeline Mackenzie, later told Variety, “We’re working on it. Nic and I are working on it a lot.”

The season two finale of "Big Little Lies" ends with the Monterey Five--Madeline Martha Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste Wright (Nicole Kidman), Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley), Renata Klein (Laura Dern), and Bonnie Carlson (Zoë Kravitz)--walking into the police station together, seemingly to turn themselves in.

Following the explosive finale, HBO boss Casey Bloys said that a third season is unlikely, telling The Hollywood Reporter that “it’s hard to imagine aligning everybody’s schedule again. The fact that we were able to get season two together is a small miracle.” But it seems that Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman have other plans.

Zoë Kravitz is currently promoting her new film, "Blink Twice," which hit theaters on August 23. Kravitz, who both stars and directs the movie, previously spoke out about her costar, Naomi Ackie, who acts as the main character in "Blink Twice."

“This is how hardworking Naomi Ackie is,” Kravitz told Vanity Fair. “We had been working her into the ground on a night shoot. We’re blocking the scene where someone has a gun to her head. She hadn’t eaten, and I was like, ‘I’m going to get you a sandwich. Just get up and eat for a second.’ And she’s like, ‘No, no, no, just pass it to me.’"

"So I have this picture of her on the ground, in the dirt, with one hand being held behind her back and a gun to her head—and the other hand has a sandwich in it," she added. "Hardest working woman in show business.”

This film also stars Kravitz' fiancé, Channing Tatum, as well as Christian Slater, Haley Joel Osment, Simon Rex, and Kyle MacLachlan.

Fun fact--the movie was actually supposed to be called something completely different. "The first thing I wrote down was just 'P-ssy Island'—which was the original title—not really knowing what it meant, but just having this feeling," she admitted.

"I wrote this insane thing, and then Eric is a friend of mine, who I know from Brooklyn," she told Vanity Fair. "He lives near my house and he had written a few scripts that he’d shown me before. He hadn’t done a lot of writing either, but I knew that he wanted to write, and I think he’s talented."

"So I sent him this novella and thought, “Do you want to do this with me and we can learn together?” I would walk to his house every day and we would sit across from each other at the table and his amazing wife would make us snacks and we’d sit together for five hours a day and wrote for years," Kravitz added.

Naomi Ackie later chimed in about the original script, saying that she was "so down" despite the bold title.

"Seriously. 'Zoë Kravitz, P-ssy Island.' Where do I sign?" she told the outer. "Then I was like, “Okay, cool. I have to read it before I chat to her.” When I read it, I had so many thoughts. There’s so many different layers to this. You can be like, “Oh, okay, don’t go to a private island—cool.” We all know, don’t speak to strangers."

"But beyond that, you can go deeper and deeper and deeper," Ackie, who portrays the main character in the movie, added. "It encouraged conversation. When we had our conversation, there was so much to talk about."
