For guests of Play Playground, it's all about hanging out with friends in a fun environment or even making new friends.

"Guests can expect to make connections or even re-establish existing connections. Throughout this extraordinarily playful experience, guests are encouraged to unleash their inner child and make new friends, have fun, be silly, laugh, and high-five each other," Jennifer Worthington, co-creator of Play Playground told The Blast exclusively.

"A crucial part of developing Play Playground was capturing the whimsy of childhood, and this is something we are excited to share with the world."

Play Playground Is A 'Screen-Free Experience'

When designing the adult-only attraction, Worthington said it was important that it was going to be a "screen-free experience."

"How could we get people to put down their devices and interact face-to-face and make personal connections?" she continued. "We looked back at when adults were at their happiest, and it was playing games as kids. We wanted games that would evoke the nostalgia of childhood and yet also challenge our guests to get out of their comfort zones."

There are 20 games to play that are physical, memory, and puzzle games designed for group play. Some of the games you'll find include, Doctor! Doctor!, Perfect Popper, Move It, Poker Parkour, and Bullseye Bounce.

What To Know Before Visiting...

Before spending some time at Play Playground, Worthington wants people to know "this is the ultimate place for people to let go of their inhibitions, make friends, and celebrate."

"Play Playground was created to have a specific environment geared toward connections and competition," she said. "Whether you are here with longtime friends, on a date, or just out looking for something new to experience, there is something here for you to take away."

Worthington also wants people to know that "everything you do, see, and play with is real."

"The memories and experiences made here are built on enjoying your time with friends new and old, giving people a much-needed escape from the countless overwhelming events that take place in the world," she explained.

"The best part of the attraction is the ability to connect, no doubt about it. When I visit Play Playground, I see people trading high-fives, laughing with their friends, shouting in excitement as the timer counts down on their games. The camaraderie and enthusiasm I've witnessed here has surpassed my expectations, it feels surreal to see our vision come to fruition like this."

Sorry Kids: Play Playground Is For The Adults!

Sorry, kids! While Play Playground looks like a child's dream come true, it's a 21 and older facility.

"The experience is the first of its kind, and while we had a strong vision going into it, there was a lot of learning along the way as well," Worthington said.

"Initially, there were designated hours for those under 21, however, this led to confusion around what the space was intended for. By making it 21-plus only, our audience has a clear idea of what they can expect when visiting."
