Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, are designing their own Texas mansion, which has been under construction for a few months.
Earlier this month, the Olympian shared several images of rooms in the couple’s soon-to-be home, showcasing matching white walls and almost complete decor.
As she settles down following the whirlwind at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Simone Biles checks in on the progress of her new home and shares a glimpse into what the final project will look like.
Simone Biles Shares Snaps From Inside Her Near-Finished Kitchen
Earlier this week, Biles shared a series of videos and snapshots on her Instagram Stories, one of which showcased her nearly-finished kitchen.
“So excited to make this house a HOME ... a couple more months,” she captioned a video showcasing her nearly-finished kitchen, which now features marble countertops and white cabinets.
The drawers are still being installed, and the floor is not yet complete, but we can picture just how gorgeous the final product will be.
Ready To Make This House 'Into A Home'
The video shared to her Instagram showcased their new kitchen, featuring an island with a waterfall edge covered in dramatic black-and-white veined stone. The countertops and backsplash are finished with the same marble pattern, while a gold light fixture hangs from the ceiling, which just enhances the room's elegance.
In another photo shared on her Instagram Stories, Biles took a selfie during her hectic day, wearing tan camouflage pants, a cropped tan T-shirt, and white Air Force Ones.
“House meetings all day,” she wrote on the photo, mentioning that the plans throughout the day included topics ranging from landscaping to audio and security systems.
Simone Biles Trades In Her Old Car
Her new home isn't the only upgrade Biles has gotten--she recently upgraded from her black SUV to a $150,000 white G-Wagon following her success at the Paris Olympics.
The 27-year-old Olympic gymnast recently showcased her new vehicle on Instagram, revealing her sleek new white Mercedes G-Wagon.
She first posted a photo of herself next to her old black G-Wagon with the caption, “Out with the old.” The next slide featured Biles beaming as she sat on the hood of her new car, captioning the snap, “In with the NEW.”
The Olympian Got A Serious Upgrade!
It seems Biles is in a much better place than she was during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she withdrew due to mental health issues and the “twisties.”
Simone’s mother, Nellie Biles, also addressed her daughter's challenges, stressing the importance of seeking help and support in times of struggle.
"Those times were really dark and stressful times," Nellie told People Magazine of the Tokyo Games. "To work through that and be in this place where she enjoys doing what she wants ... this is rewriting her story. It's rewriting it on her terms because she is in this place that she perhaps wished she would have been for years."
Simone Biles Makes Epic Comeback At 2024 Paris Olympics
The 27-year-old gymnast made a triumphant comeback at the 2024 Paris Olympics, breaking 13 records and cementing her status as the most decorated American gymnast of all time with 11 medals. She also entered an elite group of just 29 athletes who have earned more than ten medals across both the Summer and Winter Games throughout their careers.
“I’m a lot happier and I chose to do this. So at the end of the day, whatever happens, happens," she said, per the "TODAY" show. "But I’m in a good spot mentally and physically, so you can’t take that away from me."
"So whenever I’m out there, it’s just pure joy," the gymnast added. "Can’t believe I’m out there again, competing, representing my country, just having fun, doing what I love.”
To maintain her mental health during the recent Olympic Games, Biles made a point to visit her therapist several times throughout the weeks. “I saw her about three or four times throughout this whole entire process and it didn’t matter if it was before all-around or after qualifications," she said. "I went back to the village and I got on a call with her and did my therapy session because that’s routine for me now."
