Melissa Rycroft Reveals She's Interviewed For A Role On The 'RHOD' Cast

Melissa Rycroft rose to fame when she won the heart of Jason Mesnick on his season of "The Bachelor" in 2009, only to be dumped for his runner-up, Molly Malaney, during the "After the Final Rose" special.
Luckily, years later, after Mesnick and Malaney tied the knot and started a family, the 38-year-old former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader moved on from the heartbreak with Tye Strickland, who she married in December 2009, and their three children, including 10-year-old daughter Ava, and their sons, six-year-old Beckett and four-year-old Cayson.
Although Rycroft hasn't been seen on television for some time, she almost became a "housewife."
Melissa Rycroft Was Turned Down By 'RHOD' Producers Twice
During a Q&A session with her fans and followers on Instagram, Rycroft was asked to share her thoughts on "The Real Housewives of Dallas," which is currently airing its fifth season on Bravo.
“Why would you never go on the 'Real Housewives of Dallas'?” a social media user wondered last Friday, as reported by Us Weeklyon March 29.
“I’ve been interviewed and turned down twice … I am so NOT Housewife material!” Rycroft responded, along with a GIF featuring Luann de Lesseps, of "The Real Housewives of New York City."
Filming 'The Bachelor' Was 'Awkward' For Melissa Rycroft
Although Rycroft may not be suited for "The Real Housewives of Dallas," that may be for the best. After all, she didn't have the best experience on "The Bachelor" wasn't the best. In fact, during an interview on Us Weekly's "Here for the Right Reasons" podcast last year, she admitted that producers made sure she was in an emotional state before she was dumped by her then-fiance, Mesnick.
“Filming that was the most awkward thing in the entire world because I’m looking at everybody going you all knew exactly why you were coming here. It was bad,” Rycroft recalled.

“They put me in that shiny foil, strapless mini dress, they put the ring on my finger and backstage they had me watch the engagement video, which I’d never seen before [because] it hadn’t aired [yet]. So they got me all dolled up and all emotional,” she continued.
In the years since she first appeared on "The Bachelor," Rycroft has gone on to appear on a number of other shows, including two seasons of "Dancing With the Stars," one of which she won

Rycroft has also hosted a number of different reality shows, including "Bachelor Pad," "Redneck Island," and "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team," and in 2012, she and Strickland appeared on their very own show, "Melissa & Tye," for a single season on CMT.
