Saweetie has come up on social media trends and tabloid covers in the past few weeks after her public breakup from rapper, Quavo. The duo were going well for a while until cheating rumors spread like wildfire.
To add gasoline to the burning building, the duo were caught on camera in an elevator, having a physical altercation, which thankfully, led to no serious injuries.
As the public slowly moves on from her personal life, she's all for focusing on her album project that's set to drop very soon. The singer also recently recounted when she was almost sent to jail at a young age.
A Fan-Loved Queen
It's true, the 27-year-old recently joined the music business, but no one's denying that she came with a lot of different touches to music as a whole.
She began her career from social media and managed to amass about 11 million followers. Before she hit the millions of followings, fans were attracted to the singer's popular car raps.
In no time, she released two EPs and thought, why not take things a lot more further? Yes she did. Presently, she has 20 incredible singles (including two promotional singles), some of which became TikTok trends and is working on her first album.
Saweetie Talks About Her Life With Paris Hilton
Many singers and rappers in the industry have their stories to tell, about how they were caught up in bad situations and found a way to break away from it.
Saweetie has been candid about her run-ins with illegal activities, which in the long run, almost landed her in jail. The "Tap In" singer spoke on Paris Hilton's podcast called "This Is Paris," about her life.
She was asked about her motivation for success and she explained to Hilton that growing up was hard for her because she didn't have the things she wanted.
Saweetie Shoplifted A Lot
She continued that this continuous lack helped to push her more, so she could do more for herself.
Furthermore, Saweetie said that pushing herself beyond limits made her do some illegal things, like steal clothes to wear. She said that she was very good at it, but one day, a friend of hers was caught in the act and that implicated her too.
"... I don't encourage this, but I was good at what I did. And I got caught," she said.
A Narrow Escape From Jail
The singer went on to say that she was s good at it, that she shoplifted from expensive stores such as Victoria's Secret, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters and Hot Topic.
However, she decided to give up the habit after she was handed to police officers when she was caught. The officer who put her at his back seat asked her if she felt good and her response was NO!
He then asked about her studies because he could tell she was an intelligent kid. For this reason, he let her off with a warning and that marked the last time she ever stole.
