Three months after the heartbreaking passing of Chris Pratt's stunt double, his cause of death has finally been revealed.

Tony McFarr, a famous stuntman in the entertainment industry, took his last breath in May. His death was recently ruled to be an accidental case, sparked by his dark history of binge drinking alcohol.

The late stuntman worked with Chris Pratt on multiple projects, including the "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Jurassic World" franchises.

In new reports, the Orange County Medical Examiner in Florida officially revealed McFarr's cause of death as a result of an irregular heartbeat. An issue with his heart valves caused the condition.

The contributing factors in McFarr's death include alcohol poisoning and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, also known as COPD. This common lung problem restricts airflow, resulting in breathing problems.

In Pratt's stunt double's case, his autopsy noted he had a history of binge alcohol consumption — a problem that was reflected in his blood-alcohol concentration (BAC). The medical examiner revealed he had a 0.29 percent concentration when his body was examined.

According to TMZ, the legal BAC limit for driving is .08 in most states, but McFarr presumably didn't restrict his drinking since he was at home. His mother, Donna, confirmed his death in May, describing it as unexpected and shocking.

Pratt's Stunt Double Wasn't Discovered On Time

The medical examiner revealed McFarr's body was already decomposing by the time he was found, implying he had been dead at home for some time before anyone noticed.

Given his autopsy result and history of binge drinking alcohol, the medical examiner officially classified his death as an accident. McFarr was 47, a few years older than Pratt.

During their time together, the actor commemorated his relationship with the stuntman on Instagram. In a 2016 post, Pratt shared a picture of the pair taken from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" set alongside the tribute:

"Here's me and my stunt-man Tony McFarr (also Tommy Harper stunt coordinator and our first AD Lars Winther) on set. Been working with Tony since Jurassic World. Love you, buddy! Happy wrap!"
