Ariel Winter In Sheer Braless Minidress Deemed 'Embarrassing' In High Heels

Ariel Winter didn't receive much love for her gold minidress look as she joined her fellow Modern Family cast members for a screening back in May 2017. Stepping onto the red carpet in an eye-popping sheer dress, the actress flaunted her curves with confidence, but she was only met with criticism as users reacted to the photos. Braving a braless finish as she accentuated her assets while going thigh-skimming, Ariel left little to the imagination with her see-through chest panel, and the slamming was actually so bad, she clapped back.

The 26-year-old, then age 19, opted for monogram-like embellishments in brown and gold, inching her way toward a Cleopatra-style motif while drawing the eye from her shapely upper body to her hourglass waistline. Keeping leggy in her teeny look, Ariel added a pair of metallic gold stilettos, going chic with a pointed toe as she stuck to a bare-legged finish.

Wearing plenty of matte makeup as she sported cheek blush and a nude lip, Ariel enhanced her features with dramatic dark eye makeup, rocking her locks down and dyed near-black. The event was also attended by costars including Julie Bowen, Nolan Gould, Sofia Vergara, and Ty Burrell.

The Daily Mail's readers did not appear impressed. Over 800 fans have now upvoted the most-liked comment, one reading: "How totally embarrassing bordering on mortifying....." Agreeing, and with over 200 upvotes, another fan said: "She needs to be written off the show, how embarrassing." Also giving Ariel the thumbs-down was a fan stating: "Her outfit is just out of place. Who dressed her today?"

Noting the criticism, Ariel took to social media with a massive clap-back that same month. Defending her style choice, the former ABC actress wrote:

"Why the f*** does everyone care that I didn't dress casual like everyone else for the panel?" Ariel continued: "Why can't people just let other people feel good about themselves and do what they want?' She then proclaims: 'Wear what you want people! As long as you feel good about yourself that's what matters. I know I did."

Ariel switched out of red carpet mode for this Instagram photo, one marking her September 2022 travels to Las Vegas, NV. Posing by a massive resort pool, she went strapless in a white shorts and top combo, also holding up a fresh pineapple. "Forever trying to be an island girl," she amusingly wrote while also showcasing her cute blonde locks.
