Pitt is closely monitoring the health of his estranged son Pax as the 20-year-old recovers from the terrible e-bike accident that landed him in the ICU. While father and son still have no contact, a source revealed to the New York Post that the "Bullet Train" actor is getting updates about Pax's health.

The insider shared that Pitt's primary focus is that Pax's recovery "continues to go in the right direction." The actor wants his son to bounce back and "get to a good place.

Pax almost lost his life when his bike rear-ended a car at a red light stop in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles on July 29th.

According to police reports and eyewitnesses, Pax was not wearing a helmet and was so injured he was initially assumed dead.

According to TMZ, Pitt was "shocked and emotional" when he received news about Pax's accident and became "extremely concerned" about his son.

The "Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood" star soon began receiving a "steady flow of information" about Pax's recovery from various "concerned people around the family."

The information from the family's inner circle has been Pitt's source, even two weeks after Pax's release from the ICU. The actor was reportedly shocked that Pax didn't have a helmet on for that bike ride, especially as the 20-year-old was involved in multiple bike accidents in the past.

Besides Pax, Pitt and Jolie share five other kids: Maddox, 23, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

Jolie first adopted Pax in 2007, at the age of 3, and Pitt legally adopted him the year after. However, father and son have been on bad terms for years, and it became public when Jolie filed for divorce.

In 2020, Pax publicly expressed his feelings toward Pitt by going on a social media tirade about the actor's lack of "empathy."

"Happy Father's Day to this world class a-shole!! You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person," Pax wrote, adding a picture of Pitt receiving an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. "You have no consideration or empathy toward your 4 youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence."

"You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell. You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want, but the truth will come to light someday," Pax continued, per the Daily Mail. "So, Happy Father's Day, you f–king awful human being!!!"

The news of Pitt monitoring Pax's recovery comes just after he received a blow from another of his estranged kids, Shiloh. The 18-year-old has been granted her request to drop her father's last name legally and now goes by "Shiloh Jolie."

Shiloh is just the latest of Pitt and Jolie's kids to dump their father's last name publicly. Earlier this year, daughter Vivienne chose to list herself as "Vivienne Jolie" in the playbill for the Broadway show "The Outsiders," which she co-produced with her mom.

The former couple's other daughter, Zahara, also went viral on social media when she dropped Pitt's name for a school event. For her induction ceremony into the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College, Georgia, Zahara introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" alone.
