In any industry, there are two main kinds of people; the ones who no matter what, would choose their career over another life. Then there are those who see their careers as important, but not enough to throw away a beautiful life outside it.
The beautiful and talented actress, Jessica Alba, falls into the latter category. The actress had gone through the good, bad, and worst moments of her career. And was already at her best, when she decided to leave.
Recently, she opened up on why she made that decision to walk away from everything she had worked so hard to achieve. Keep reading to find out more details.
Jessica Alba's Movie Industry Big Break
Jessica Marie Alba, was born in Pomona, California, U.S. on April 28, 1981. She found her calling to become an actress at age five and six years later, she convinced her mother to take her to an acting competition.
Although Alba fully began her acting career in 1992, she had her big breakthrough in the industry, in 2003, when she starred in a musical and dance movie titled "Honey."
Prior to this, Alba was handpicked by James Cameron to play a role in a sci-fi series titled "Dark Angel." This not only attracted the public to her, but set her up for bigger roles.
A Marvel Actress
Some people say that there is the movie industry and there is the Marvel industry. Although there are many talented and incredible actors and actresses, only a few become Marvel actors and Alba made that cut.
In 2005, the 39-year-old starred alongside Chris Evans, Julian McMahon, Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis in a Marvel movie titled "Fantastic Four." Here, the actress played the character 'Invincible Woman.'
After enough action in her career, Alba proceeded to romantic comedy with roles in movies like "Knocked Up," "Good Luck Chuck," and so on.
By 2016, Alba had grossed a net worth of $197,349,781 a vast amount, compared to the $645,646 she was worth in 2005.
Why Did She Leave?
Alba has been away from the movie industry for almost a decade and while fans acknowledge her reason for leaving, they still wish she would come back someday.
During a recent discussion with Romper, Alba revealed her main reason for leaving the industry. She highlighted that her introduction into motherhood, helped her make the decision to leave.
In 2008, the Marvel actress welcomed her first child, Honor Marie, with husband, Cash Warren. Then, in 2011 and 2017 respectively, she welcomed another daughter and a son.
Family Is Everything! Always
Alba mentioned in the interview that she was gradually wanting to leave, but having kids kind of made up her mind for her. She went on to say that she always thought about spending more time with her kids and husband.
"I could not go back to what I was doing before and be authentic. I just could not. I did not care about it the same way," she said.
After her first child, Alba continued to appear in movies and TV shows, but the zeal to go on was no longer there and she decided that her only priority, was her children.
We all miss you Alba and wish you the best!
