The drama surrounding Elvis Presley's Graceland estate is almost over, with the recent arrest of a woman involved in the sale scheme.

Authorities captured and charged a Missouri resident named Lisa Jeanine Findley for participating in a nefarious plan to obtain the late singer's estate illegally. She claimed his deceased daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, had used the property as collateral for a loan.

The culprit tried to take over Elvis Presley's Graceland estate using fake loan documents. However, Lisa Marie Presley's daughter, Riley Keough, vehemently fought against the sale.

The legal drama began when a company called Naussany Investments and Private Lending accused Lisa Marie of failing to pay back a $3.8 million loan before her death. They argued that she used her late father's beloved estate as collateral for the money.

When Keough fought against the sale of Elvis's Graceland property, the FBI got involved and launched a criminal investigation into the attempted sale. Months later, the U.S. Department of Justice confirmed Findley's arrest.

They announced the Missouri woman had been taken into custody on Friday, August 16, with feds noting she had been charged with mail fraud and aggravated identity theft. These charges spelled severe consequences for the culprit.

The Arrested Culprit May Not Be The 'Mastermind'

Although Findley was taken into custody for orchestrating the fraudulent sale scheme, an Elvis estate official claimed she might not be the puppeteer. In their words:

"We think this is the first domino to fall, not the last. We do not believe this is the mastermind behind the scam."

"Statements attributed to the woman arrested have pointed to someone who has a loose affiliation with the Elvis world," the source claimed, noting that was the only information they could share at the time.

Findley's arrest comes three months after The Blast reported Lisa Marie's daughter contested the foreclosure sale on Elvis' property through a lawsuit. She alleged fraudulent claims, accusing the loan group of identity theft.

The loan company's claim received a legal response from Keough, who refused to have her late mother's name tarnished or lose her grandfather's Graceland estate. She filed her arguments in May, claiming the loan documents were fake.

The "Mad Max: Fury Road" actress stressed that Lisa Marie's signatures on the documents were forged. She backed her claim with allegations about the notary involved in the process.

According to Keough, the notary allegedly denied ever notarizing Lisa Marie's signature on the deed or meeting her. This made the actress question the legitimacy of Naussany Investments and Private Lending as an entity.

Elvis's granddaughter wasn't the only one questioning Naussany's claims, as Graceland officials similarly echoed sentiments of fraudulent behavior. They backed Keough up in a statement, claiming:

"Elvis Presley Enterprises can confirm that these claims are fraudulent. There is no foreclosure sale. Simply put, the counter lawsuit has been filed to stop the fraud."

The late King of Rock and Roll reportedly acquired the Graceland mansion in the Whitehaven neighborhood of Memphis in 1957. Following his death in 1977, Lisa Marie inherited Graceland and later opened its doors to the public as a museum in 1982.

Before her battle with Naussany began, The Blast reported that Keough was hit with a massive tax lien in November 2023. The claim was filed against her and her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, for owing taxes from 2021.

In the filing, Keough and Petersen received a bill of $68,116.50. The lien was placed against the couple's former Woodland Hills home, with the state Tax Board warning that further interest and fees would continue to accrue until they paid the debt.

The sum shouldn't have been a problem for Elvis's granddaughter, given her successful acting career. In 2023, she scored a significant role as the titular character in Prime Video's "Daisy Jones & the Six" and earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress.
