Demi Lovato's drug problem was far worse than anyone imagined in the months leading up to her near-fatal overdose, and the singer says it included abusing drugs like meth, and crack cocaine.
The 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer opened up about her struggles in the new four-part series 'Dancing With The Devil' which highlights her life including being rushed to the hospital after overdosing on drugs.
In the new 20-episode, released on YouTube, Demin explained she "crossed a line that I had never crossed in the world of addiction" when she relapsed in 2018, after spending so many years sober she just "went to town."

“I did drugs I’d never done before. I’d never done meth before, I tried meth. I mixed it with molly, with coke, weed, alcohol, OxyContin. That alone should have killed me,” she explained.
In the episode, Demi said she started using heroin and crack cocaine recreationally after a drug dealer didn't have her preferred party combination of cocaine and Xanax.
At one point, she claims following her 'Tell Me You Love Me' tour she was such a heavy user of both drugs that she even interrupted a game night to quietly used the dope in a friend's bathroom.

As for the fateful night of the overdose, Demi says she was handing out with friends and told them she was going to bed when everyone left. But, in reality, she was calling her drug dealer to bring her some dope.
After ingesting the drugs, and being rushed to the hospital, she now assumes she was it was "fentanyl" laced dope and called them "aftermarket" pills. As we reported, many of the street prescription pills are laced with fentanyl, which is a deadly opioid.
Shockingly, after the overdose, Lovato said she woke up in the hospital "shocked" because she thought you could only overdose on drugs if you were injecting them.

“I am not saying that I have not used needles, but that night I wasn’t injecting it, I was smoking it. Which is another reason why I was so shocked when I woke up in the hospital because I was, like, ‘No, I’m not injecting it. I can’t overdose on it," she said.
Adding, “At the end of the day, if you do too much of anything, it’s gonna kill you.”
As we reported, the situation was so bad, Demi was only minutes away from dying if the paramedics wouldn't have begun treating her. Lovato suffered three strokes and a heart attack while in the hospital and was forced to be on dialysis machines.
"I was left with brain damage, and I still deal with the effects of that today. I don't drive a car, because I have blind spots on my vision," she explained.
Two more episodes of the docu-series are expected to drop in the next few weeks.
