Suspects linked to Matthew Perry's ketamine-influenced death have been arrested.
The new update on the "Friends" star's cause of death recently broke via law enforcement sources. They claimed the ongoing investigation into where Perry got the drug that killed him brought multiple people to light.
Matthew Perry died from the "acute effects of the drug Ketamine," which caused him to lose consciousness and drown in his hot tub last October.
Cops Arrest Several People With Possible Links To Matthew Perry's Death
The investigation into Perry's death had multiple agencies, including the DEA, U.S. Postal Service, and LAPD, searching for who provided the ketamine found in the actor's system.
The criminal investigation continued for months with speculated celebrity involvement until arrests were finally made. Law enforcement sources revealed several search warrants were executed, resulting in the seizure of numerous electronic equipment.
From phones to computers, authorities took everything that could help them identify the culprit who illegally supplied Perry with ketamine. Alongside the seizures were multiple arrests, including at least one doctor, per TMZ.
Perry Had High Levels Of Ketamine In His System
The criminal investigation into Perry's death was significant because he had the same level of ketamine in his system that is used for general anesthesia in surgery. Law enforcement sources noted the drug wasn't legally prescribed.
Perry had been getting ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression; however, his last session was a week and a half before his death. Therefore, the ketamine in his system wasn't doctor-prescribed but given to him by an external source.
In July, The Blast reported that authorities singled out actor Charlie Sheen's former wife for questioning. Brooke Mueller and another female celebrity were allegedly being investigated as possible suspects who provided Perry with ketamine or knew where he got it.
Charlie Sheen's Former Wife Investigated For Perry's Death
Mueller reportedly came under cops' radar in June, with a source at the time revealing a woman was brought in for questioning. They did not identify her as Sheen's former wife, saying:
"She's a celebrity in her own right, and they met in rehab. They formed an unexpected friendship. It's tough to say or know exactly what her role is [in Perry's death]."
"But she's adamant she had nothing to do with that. She's hired lawyers and has had multiple meetings with law enforcement since they arrived at her sober living house with a search warrant," the insider continued, adding:
"She's being tight-lipped about the situation. But the investigators must have known something to get a warrant and turn up like that."
A Second Celebrity Was Linked To Perry's Investigation
A month after Mueller's link to Perry's investigation, a source claimed a second celebrity pal of his could be involved in his death. They described the duo as "walking pharmacies" who seemingly "aided" their vices.
There was allegedly photographic evidence of the unidentified women and Perry at the office of a doctor who prescribed ketamine. It was suspected the pair referred each other to their respective doctors whenever their drug supply ran low.
The source claimed that once investigators dug deeper into Perry's relationship with the second celebrity, they could find new leads into how the actor obtained the ketamine that killed him. "It will not look good for the celebrity," they argued.
Meanwhile, Former CIA and FBI special agent Tracy Walder claimed the suspects in Perry's case could be charged with mail fraud. "They're looking at the illegal transportation of drugs across state lines to people that they have not been prescribed. Obviously, that's a crime," he explained.
Matthew Perry's Personal Wealth Reportedly Valued At $1.5M
Following his death, reports speculated that Perry left behind $1 million of personal properties. However, The Blast shared that his wealth was reportedly valued at about $1.5 million.
The actor also had a trust valued at $120 million with several beneficiaries. The list included his father, John Perry; mother, Suzanne Morrison; half-sister Caitlin Morrison; and his ex-girlfriend Rachel Dunn.
He left most of his possessions to the Alvy Singer Living Trust, which he created in 2009 and named after Woody Allen's 1977 "Annie Hall" character. Meanwhile, his $6 million Pacific Palisades home was placed in his trustee, Lisa Ferguson's name.
With the recent arrests, Matthew Perry's cause of death case is drawing closer to a conclusion, and the beloved actor can finally rest in peace.
