On Monday, it was another day in the story of the legal woes that popular Louisiana rapper, NBA Youngboy, continues to get himself into every year. TMZ reported that he is in FBI custody after initially running away from police in Los Angeles while getting pulled over. This was after it was revealed that Youngboy had an outstanding active federal warrant. LAPD and federal agents ended up using a K-9 dog to locate Youngboy to finally get him into custody.

A firearm also ended up being found inside the vehicle that Youngboy was in. It’s still unclear if that belonged to him or not. One person who is shocked that this happened is his one of his baby mamas, Yaya Mayweather, the daughter of Floyd Mayweather. She took to her Instagram stories to say that “My day has been completely ruined.” this is in reference to the Youngboy arrest. The two had dated last year but that relationship ended in the middle of Yaya’s pregnancy.

At the top of this year, Yaya took to her Instagram stories to reveal that she had finally given birth to her and Youngboy’s son. The photo used was of the newborn’s foot. Yaya still hasn’t revealed the child’s face on social media yet. Youngboy was also recently seen with the child as this was the first time online that people had seen him with the child. He has also yet to comment publicly on Yaya giving birth. Youngboy is supposedly still dating Jazlyn Mychelle. 

Last month, a prosecutor also revealed that federal investigators are looking into Youngboy due to a September music video shoot that led to 15 people being arrested on drugs and guns charges, according to The Advocate. This is due to Youngboy being a felon and not being allowed to possess a firearm. 

“There’s no crime committed by Kentrell in this,” said attorney Brandon Fremin. “They didn’t find him in possession of anything (illegal). They just arrested everybody.”

In 2020, Youngboy had a phenomenal year for his music. He released three projects that debuted in the top two of the Billboard 200 chart. The “38 Baby” mixtape debuted at No. 1 in April and “Top” debuted at No. 1 in September. Later that fall, he was also part of another huge record in Mike Will Made-It’s “What That Speed Bout?!” which also included Nicki Minaj. Youngboy also had a collab album with Rich The Kid and put out an NBA compilation album.
