Melissa Joan Hart has a yearly reminder for all of the "ladies out there" to get their "tatas checked."
The American Cancer Society recommends that women with average risk begin annual mammograms at age 40 and continue them yearly or biennially, depending on their health and family history. Mammograms can detect breast cancer before symptoms appear, which is crucial for early treatment and better outcomes.
Melissa Joan Hart took to her Instagram Stories to share a make-up-free selfie from the doctor's office, urging her female followers to get their "tatas checked" as "mammograms save lives."
Melissa Joan Hart Takes To Her Instagram Stories For 'Yearly Reminder'
Hart, rocking a flower-printed hospital gown, was seemingly waiting for her annual mammogram when she took a moment to remind her female followers to book their appointments.
"Yearly reminder to my ladies out there to get your tatas checked!" she wrote before adding the hashtag, "#MammogramsSaveLives."
A mammogram is an X-ray imaging test used to screen for breast cancer and other abnormalities in breast tissue.

Her latest Instagram Stories came a few years after the "Sabrina The Teenage Witch" actress revealed her breast cancer scare.
In 2019, Hart told fans that she was called back to her doctor for additional tests due to unclear results of her mammogram. Thankfully, she received the all-clear after further evaluations, but the incident was certainly eye-opening for her.
The mom-of-three told her fans, “It was a little nerve-wracking, but everything’s good. It’s all clear… I’m glad I did what I had to do and listened to the doctors. So far, so good.”
Even with the positive outcome, she wanted to share her experience to encourage other women to get tested. In the caption for her video, she wrote, "Just wanted to share my little journey of emotion this afternoon!! All is good but just feeling vulnerable today... Reminder to all women over 35—get your mammogram!!"
Melissa Joan Hart Recalls Her Experience With Weight Gain And Pregnancy
Hart has three children--two sons, Mason and Braydon, and a daughter, Tucker. In 2008, before she gave birth to her daughter, the actress opened up about her fear of pregnancy weight gain.
"I gained 20 less pounds — the first pregnancy I gained 55 pounds and the second pregnancy only 35 — and I knew what to expect a little bit more," she recalled, per People Magazine. "We had all the gear already. We didn’t have to do any of that legwork the second time around."
"I also worked out all the way through this pregnancy," she said of her pregnancy with Braydon. "The first one, the only exercise I got was walking down to get myself a bagel around the corner! This time I did Pilates until the last two weeks of my pregnancy."
Did Melissa Joan Hart Hate Pregnancy?
The actress also revealed that she "hated" pregnancy because it was "uncomfortable."
"Oh god, I did not like being pregnant," she told OK! Magazine. "I was just reading a magazine where there were a group of celebrities that loved being pregnant, so they never wanted to stop. And then there was a group of women that were just like, I hated it. And I just hated it."
"My whole life I said, I can’t wait to be pregnant. I thought that would feel so feminine and beautiful and wonderful, and I could eat whatever I wanted and I'd enjoy it," she continued. "It is so uncomfortable and you just feel so out of sorts."
While she admitted that pregnancy is "not for me," she made it clear that she "loves being a mom."
The One Piece Of Advice Melissa Joan Hart Has For Her Children
As her children get older, Hart wants her little ones to always remember one thing: “Be fearless and know who you are."
"Learning to be okay with yourself is huge because then what you think about yourself won’t be dependent on how other people feel about you," she told New Beauty. "I feel like it’s common, especially growing up in the arts, for kids to need validation, but if you’re comfortable with yourself and comfortable in your own skin, you won’t need all that."
"And just be nice to people," she added. "Even if they’re not nice to you back, if you’re nice to people nothing else matters.”
