Halle Berry is scoring brownie points with her daughter thanks to her new movie with actor Mark Wahlberg.
After introducing her to the Hollywood sensation, the "Catwoman" star became the coolest mom in town to her 16-year-old daughter Nahla Ariela. The pair joined hands for the 2024 action film, "The Union."
Halle Berry shares the teenager with the Canadian model, Gabriel Aubry — a union filled with scathing allegations and a nasty child custody battle.
Halle Berry's Daughter Is A Mark Wahlberg Fan
On Monday, August 12, Berry dropped jaws at the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie "The Union." She looked ageless in a sheer one-piece black dress with floral accents that flaunted her sizzling figure.
However, turning heads wasn't her only agenda on the red carpet as she proudly raved about being a "cool mom" thanks to her relationship with Wahlberg. In her words:
"Well, I got cool points when I introduced my daughter to Mark because she loves ' Daddy's Home.' That's one of her favorite movies."
"So when I got to introduce her to Mark, I think it was the first time in my whole career where she said, 'Oh, you know Mark Wahlberg? Okay, you're cool,'" Berry gushed to PEOPLE, noting she knew numerous A-listers, but Nahla wasn't impressed until Wahlberg.
Will Berry's Daughter Follow In Her Footsteps?
While talking about her daughter, Berry reflected on the possibility of Nahla joining the entertainment industry. She noted the teen would have to pave her own path, a rule that also applied to her son, Maceo-Robert, with ex-husband Olivier Martinez.
"I would tell them, do it the way I did it. I had no nepotism. Nobody helped me. I had to learn from the ground up. They would have to do it the same way," Berry stressed, adding:
"They would have to go pay their dues, learn a craft, work hard, and make it on their own for themselves. That way, it's always theirs. Nobody takes it away. That's what they would have to do."
Berry's inspiring words showcased the passion and determination that made her one of Hollywood's beloved giants. She achieved her G.O.A.T status with hardwork, exceptional skills, and numerous injuries.
The 'X-Men' Star Reveals Her Impressive List Of Action Skills
The Blast recently reported that Berry opened up about the action skills she has acquired for movie roles. She addressed her arsenal in a joint interview with Wahlberg shared on Netflix's Instagram page.
The 57-year-old revealed she had obtained six impressive action skills, revealing, "Well, I've learned Jiu-Jitsu, some Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, and I learned how to shoot. I learned Capoeira for Catwoman."
Her incredible skills stunned Wahlberg, who, on the other hand, noted he learned to crochet and dance ballet for "The Other Guys" movie. He also knew how to Tango but described it as the "worst."
While addressing their work-related injuries, Berry said, "I've been knocked out three times. Got an arm broken. Oh, yeah. Broke ribs twice. Two ribs one time, three ribs another time." She also suffered from a broken tailbone, two toes, and a finger.
Inside Berry's Tumultuous Relationship With Nahla's Father
Berry welcomed her teenage daughter Nahla with her former flame, Gabriel Aubry, two years after they started dating in 2006. They were hailed as a power couple until 2010 when sources claimed their nine-year age gap had ruined their relationship.
Although Berry and Aubry promised to remain on amicable terms, they became embroiled in a nasty custody battle in 2011. The 57-year-old wanted to relocate their daughter to France to be with her then-fiancé, Olivier Martinez; however, the model wasn't having it.
Berry claimed Nahla's permanent move to Paris was for her protection against the paparazzi, but a judge disagreed and denied her request. That same year, Martinez made waves for a bloody fight with Aubry outside the actress's home, per The Mirror.
Halle Berry Accused Her Ex Of Making Their Daughter Look 'White'
The drama between Berry and Aubry intensified in 2014 when a judge asked the Hollywood sensation to pay $16,000 a month in child support to her ex-boyfriend. However, she fought the agreement later that year, slamming the model's laziness.
According to Berry, the child support payments should be reduced by 80% because Aubry allegedly stopped working to live off the money. She argued that he was "perfectly capable" of getting a job to aid their daughter's well-being.
The actress also accused Aubry of trying to make their daughter "look white" by straightening her hair to make her seem less African-American. A judge ruled in her favor, stressing that no parent could change Nahla's natural hair texture or color.
Now, Halle Berry is facing off with her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, over their co-parenting agreement.
