Like her new movie with Wahlberg, Berry's track record shows that she enjoys portraying strong female characters. The Blast revealed that she opened up about how these roles have a special place in her heart.

In a 2022 interview, Berry reflected on her role as the deputy director of NASA in "Moonfall." She portrayed Jocinda "Jo" Fowler, who had to choose between seeking refuge with her kid or blasting out into space to save the world before the moon's orbital shift destroys it.

The 57-year-old admitted that not only did she enjoy starring in the film, but her character also possessed more value than it seemed on the surface. In her words:

"This role was really written for a man and probably a white man. So to put a Black woman in that role was really important to me."

Berry confessed that her "Moonfall" role was significant to her inner child, noting she grew up watching movies that featured black women in lead roles. Having the opportunity to inspire others the same way resonated deeply with the actress.

"That was one of the things that really inspired me about playing this character because I know how important those kinds of role models and images were in film and television when I was little. They helped me dream," she explained.

Given how much strong female characters mean to Halle Berry, it is unsurprising that she plays the role of a talented secret agent in her new movie "The Union." What will she do next?
