Tinsley Mortimer and Scott Kluth have split but the details surrounding their breakup are a bit unclear.
Although the former "Real Housewives of New York City" cast member was rumored to have been completely blindsided by Kluth's breakup announcement, which was shared last week, an insider told Page Sixon March 19 that Mortimer simply wasn't taking the hint from Kluth.
Kluth has been “communicating” with Mortimer that their relationship is over for months, the source said, but Mortimer has refused to accept it.
Tinsley Mortimer And Scott Kluth Are At Odds Over Split
“Her perception of when they broke up is clearly different from Scott’s,” the insider explained, “but Scott communicated to her that they were broken up months ago.”
Kluth confirmed the end of his and Mortimer's two-year engagement earlier this month and in the days that followed, Mortimer used social media to shade him as her former "Real Housewives of New York City" cast mate, Leah McSweeney, referred to him as "trash."
As fans of "RHONY" well know, Mortimer and Kluth were on and off for years before he proposed in November 2019.
Scott Kluth May Have A Fear Of Commitment
While some say Mortimer and Kluth's breakup was a long time coming, others have suggested that the split occurred after Kluth “suddenly" went "back to his old tricks.”
According to the report, Kluth exhibited patterns of a commitment-phobe as he and Mortimer frequently split and got back together over the years. That said, Mortimer truly believed he was in it for the long haul when he got down on one knee and proposed to her in Chicago.
Unfortunately, time has seemingly proved otherwise.
Tinsley Mortimer Was Reportedly 'Confused' By Scott Kluth Prior To Their Split
When Page Six approached Mortimer's friends about the Kluth source's claims of having communicated their breakup with Mortimer, the friends said that the former reality star was confused by his statements due to their “break-up-and-get-back-together cycle.”
“He would do that and then get back together with her,” they said. “It was ‘we’re together,’ then ‘let’s take some space,’ then ‘we’re not together.’ A real mindf*ck.”
Mortimer and Kluth were originally set up by Mortimer's former "Real Housewives of New York City" co-star, Carole Radziwill, in 2017.
Scott Kluth Has Reportedly Made A Habit Of Breaking Up And Making Up
“This was the type of pattern he would do to her through the four years they were dating and now that she left her career and basically everything for him, she had no choice but to try and make it work and stick it out with him through this unhealthy pattern,” the source added.
The remaining members of "The Real Housewives of New York City" cast are expected to return to Bravo in the coming months for season 13 but a premiere date has not yet been set.
