Three years after scoring an Oscar nomination for playing J.D. Vance’s grandma in "Hillbilly Elegy," Glenn Close is now seemingly throwing shade at Donald Trump’s running mate.

Vance’s recent dig at “childless” women has ignited backlash, with celebs like Jennifer Aniston—who’s been open about her fertility struggles—leading to speak out against him.

Now, Glenn Close has joined the conversation, taking to social media with what looks like a jab at J.D. Vance.

An old clip from a 2021 episode of Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show is making waves once again, and it's got everyone talking. Back then, J.D. Vance, who was vying for the Ohio Senate seat, dropped a bombshell statement that’s now causing a major stir.

Vance claimed that the United States was being governed by "a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable with their own lives and the choices they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too."

“It’s just a basic fact — you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC — the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children," he added. "And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

Did Glenn Close Shade J.D. Vance?

On Sunday, Glenn Close took to Instagram with a selfie featuring her cat Eve, but the caption is what grabbed everyone's attention. "Eve would have left a bleeding mouse head in the bed of anyone who criticized any kind of lady with a CAT!" she wrote.

Fans were quick to link this to J.D. Vance’s “childless cat ladies” remark, where he slammed people without kids.

"I will say that all this 'childless cat ladies' talk inspired me to adopt a sweet kitty from animal control last week," one of her followers commented. "Thankful for my new fur baby, and proud to be a new member of the 'Childfree Cat Ladies' club."

"Cats and their people for Kamala!" another said.

Until now, Glenn Close has kept quiet about J.D. Vance’s role as Trump’s VP pick and her own film "Hillbilly Elegy," which has shot back to the top of best-seller lists and Netflix’s most-watched titles since Vance joined the ballot.

In the movie, Close stars as Vance’s Mamaw, dealing with a tumultuous relationship with her daughter Bev, played by Amy Adams. While Close didn’t comment on Vance’s political rise when Vanity Fair reached out, she told NME in 2021 that the film “wasn’t made with politics in mind” and praised director Ron Howard’s focus on telling the story of a specific family.

After seeing the resurfaced clip of Vance on Tucker Carlson’s old show, Jennifer Aniston hit up her Instagram Stories to share her thoughts.

“All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day,” the actress wrote. “I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too."

Her Instagram Stories response to Vance’s resurfaced clip hits hard, especially since it comes two years after she opened up about her own fertility struggles and IVF journey.

“I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” the actress told Allure a few years ago. “All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”

“God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child,” she added. “And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies.”
