If there is one thing fans can always expect from Colin Jost, it is his sense of humor.

The "Saturday Night Live" star recently updated fans about his foot injury — one of the many mishaps he suffered as a correspondent for the 2024 Olympics — and couldn't help but poke fun at his suffering.

Colin Jost sparked concern following a series of unfortunate incidents in Tahiti while serving as a correspondent for the surfing games and a "Sex Santa" for Olympians.

On Sunday, Jost updated his Instagram Story with a screenshot of a news article that read: "Colin Jost, non-Olympian, hurts his foot in Tahiti while covering 2024 Olympics surfing." He hilariously captioned the post:

"Favorite headline. Just posted an update because all my aunts were worried @nbcolympics."

His foot update came via a video on his Instagram page, where he announced his well-being news anchor style on a rocky seashore. Poking fun at his situation, Jost said:

"'Dude, are you okay?' That's the number one text message I've received in the last 48 hours, usually followed by 'heard your foot fell off.'"

"Well, I'm actually fine. And despite what big media conspiracies would have you believe, I wasn't sent home from the Olympics. NBC simply looked at my foot, declared me legally a leper, and exiled me here to the island of Malta," he joked.

Jost playfully described Malta as a place with "thousands of 15-year-old British kids competing to see who can blackout out the fastest. And somehow, they're all winning." He continued:

"It also has this casino behind me where I've blown the hundreds of dollars I've earned as a surfing correspondent."

"But the real reason I'm in Malta, of course, is because it was the site of ten separate bubonic plague outbreaks, so they thought I would fit right in," Jost claimed, noting he also spent time in the local dungeon.

He joked about not missing all the "surf action back in Tahiti" by swimming over to a nearby yacht and using their VPN in exchange for foot pics. He also gave a special shout-out to Olympians Caroline Marks and Kauli Vast.

Jost Thanks The People Of Tahiti With More Jokes

Still keeping the hilarious theme going, Jost thanked the people of Tahiti for "their warmth, their generosity, their hospitality, and for only occasionally looking at my foot and whispering, 'chupacabra.'"

He doubled down on his foot's well-being, noting there was no problem, but he still wouldn't let fans look at it. He referenced the news article he shared on his IG Story, adding:

"But in case you're concerned, I will show you the local newspaper with today's headline so you know I'm still alive. Signing off from Tahiti in Malta for the Paris Olympics, I'm Colin Jost."

"I will see you at the next Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where they have me reporting from Catalina Island," Jost concluded. His post received positive responses from fans, with many applauding his comedic news report.

Inside Jost's Unfortunate Mishaps In Tahiti

Days earlier, The Blast reported that NBC removed Jost as a correspondent for the surfing competitions in Tahiti following multiple hiccups. His participation in the Olympics was plagued with problems from the start, with an unfriendly welcome from the Island.

The media personality severely injured his foot in the ocean thanks to Tahiti's coral reef. The aftermath saw him with three toes wrapped in gauze and red cuts on the remaining digits, as seen in the picture he shared on Instagram.

Unfortunately, the coral reef injury was just the beginning of Jost's problems. He was forced to report from a poultry yard due to technical difficulties where ants tried crawling into his wounds. Next came an ear infection, increasing his trips to the medical tents.

Colin Jost Dubbed Himself The 'Sex Santa' Of Tahiti

Despite his growing ailments, Jost never lost his sense of humor and even dubbed himself the "Sex Santa" of Tahiti. The nickname came from the surprising safe sex practices at the 2024 Olympics, with thousands of condoms distributed to athletes in Paris.

Jost played an active role in Tahiti's intimacy awareness, noting that a group of athletes resided on a "weird cruise ship that's just parked out in the harbor." He continued:

"They always talk about the Olympics Villages and how many condoms they give out for all the athletes. With the cruise ship, I've been going by on a jet ski and sort of just [throwing] condoms … like a Sex Santa."

Hopefully, Colin Jost's possible return to the 2028 Olympics will be injury-free.
