In April 2015, Selena jetted South of the Border for some fun in the sun, with the photos coming shortly after she'd defended having gained a few pounds. Looking gorgeous in a plunging frilly bikini as she channeled her love of girly swimwear, Selena flaunted her fit figure on the beach, although with the paparazzi following her around, it didn't look like she and her friends were being left alone.

Going stringy in her backless top, the Rare Beauty founder kept stylish with triangle cups, and with loose-hanging frills around the chest, she was turning heads. Flashing her eye-popping cleavage as she braved a plunging neckline, Selena splashed about the ocean, getting her form-fitting shorts soaking wet while going 100% makeup-free.

Wearing her dark locks in a ponytail as she glowed in the weekend sunshine, Selena headed back to land, where she was seen padding around a lawn barefoot. Grabbing a blue foam surfboard as she eyed up more fun in the water, the pop singer kept her unusual swim and shorts combo on, this time showing off more of her legs. Further photos showed the ex of Justin Bieber back on the beach and joined by a crowd of friends. While Selena carried her surfboard, others brought their inflatables.

Users on The Daily Mail noted the outlet's report of Selena Gomez having recently faced critiques for her weight. "She still looks gorgeous and healthy! Plus she looks really happy. People need to get off her case," one fan said. "Criticism for bikini only. What is THAT on her chest?! Granny's curtains??" another asked, with a third saying that the swimwear was "unflattering."

Appearing to agree, a further user wrote that the "swimwear was not flattering," although their comment did send Selena love.
