Prince William is reportedly engaging in crisis talks with Prince Harry, with support from his cousins, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall.
Beatrice, in particular, is known to have a close relationship with the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex.
The royal brothers have been in a bitter feud since Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their roles as working royals and relocated to the United States.
Princess Beatrice Could Act As 'Peacemaker' In Prince William And Prince Harry's Feud
According to royal expert Grant Harrold, William is working through crisis talks with his estranged brother, Harry, with the support of his cousins, Beatrice and Zara.
With the rift between the siblings still unresolved, Harrold shared that Beatrice, along with other senior members of the royal family, has been particularly supportive.
"Beatrice is very close with both William and Harry," the former butler said, per the New York Post. "Their relationship is fun and natural. It's never changed. They always have a lot of jokes together and can laugh."
He added, "They're friends and that is what's nice about it. They're cousins, but they're close and have each other's backs. They do spend a lot of time together."
Harrold suggests that Beatrice might play a crucial role by acting "as a peacemaker" for Harry, William, and King Charles III.
He believes she could act as a mediator, given her close ties with both brothers and the king, noting: "She's close to both William and Harry, as well as the king — and they trust her. It would be her out of anyone else — but she wouldn't want to be too involved."
Prince William And Prince Harry May Be Engaging In Private Talks
Harrold also hinted that William and Harry might be engaging in private discussions to resolve their differences.
"You'd like to think this time would bring William and Harry closer, but we don't really know what's going on behind closed doors," he commented.
The former butler suggested that while communication between the brothers and their father, King Charles, is likely happening, the process is complicated.
"A lot has to be resolved and sorted out. This may well be on track, but it may not have even been addressed yet," he added.
Prince William Took A Tough Stand Against His Younger Brother
William and Harry's once-close bond deteriorated into a bitter feud after he and his wife, Meghan, made several bombshell allegations against the royal family.
The warring brothers have not spoken in years, and royal commentator Jennie Bond disclosed that the Prince of Wales is bent on keeping it that way, as he has now taken a decisive stance on the issue.
"William has always been a strong character," Bond told OK! Magazine. "I think his broken childhood made him tough and resolute. He now has the reputation of being stubborn and, once his mind is made up, he sticks to his decision."
She continued, "He is definitely someone who commands respect within the family and whose views hold considerable sway. Obviously, as heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family and I think it's true that he has been prepared to take a tough stand on a number of issues, including [Princes] Andrew and Harry."
Prince William Found It 'Easier To Slam The Door' On Prince Harry
According to royal expert Christopher Andersen, William has found it easier to "slam the door" on his brother Harry while managing things at the palace, especially during the health crisis plaguing his wife, Kate Middleton, and father, King Charles.
The royal expert said, "It's just been so much easier for William, facing the pressure of having to cope with his wife's, as well as his father's cancer diagnoses, to slam the door on Harry."
He further claimed that the late Queen Elizabeth II gave Harry the cold shoulder.
"Queen Elizabeth was able to do it, and the king has shown no interest in making amends with Harry either," Andersen told Fox News Digital. "If anything, it looks as if the cancer diagnoses have made it easier for William to shut his brother out."
Illness Did Not Bring The Siblings Together
Anderson further noted that the health crisis plaguing the royal family has not caused the brothers to rise above their issues and reconcile.
"From William's perspective, at this moment, where's the upside to trying to make peace with Harry?" the royal expert asked.
"It would take a lot of negotiating and compromise to even lay down the hatchet, much less bury it. Both sides would have to find a way to take responsibility and apologize. Ain't happening anytime soon."
"It's an awful lot to handle. You really can't blame him… But the truth is that illness has not brought the brothers together. Oddly, it has driven them further apart," Anderson stated.
