Cardi B Suffers Accident That 'Almost Cost' Her Pregnancy

Hours after Cardi B filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Offset, for the second time, she took to social media to announce that she is expecting her third child.

The "WAP" rapper, who is seeking primary custody of their daughter Kulture, 5, and son Wave, 2, initiated the divorce following fresh cheating rumors.

Days later, Cardi B shared the details of a serious medical scare she had recently experienced that "almost cost" her pregnancy.

During a recent X Spaces chat, the 31-year-old rapper disclosed that she endured a "freak accident" that left her temporarily "paralyzed" and nearly resulted in a pregnancy loss.

“I had a f-cking freak accident. I don’t know how something — well, it wasn’t little, it actually hurt,” she said, per People Magazine, without going into specific details. “It doesn’t really happen often, but it become [sic] so big to the point I was literally paralyzed and that little thing almost cost me my little one to come."

Fortunately, "it didn’t" and she is "feeling good" since it happened. "I came home, but I came home high as a kite," she said, laughing. "Today, I woke up sober, honey. I’m dying, If I don’t feel good in four hours, I’m going to the hospital and I don’t give a f-ck."

"I’mma exaggerate this sh-t so I can get more morphine. Morphine me down! I don’t give a damn," she said again, adding a chuckle.

Cardi B and Offset, who married in September 2017, have navigated a turbulent relationship marked by both highs and lows.

Their relationship faced a big challenge in late December 2018 when Offset's infidelity was exposed, leading to a brief separation. However, the couple reconciled in early 2019, and by 2020, Cardi B shared the reason behind her decision to forgive Offset and give their love another opportunity.

"When me and my husband got into our issues—you know, he cheated and everything—and I decided to stay with him and work together with him, a lot of people were so mad at me," she told Vogue at the time. "A lot of women felt disappointed in me. But it's real-life sh-t. If you love somebody and you stop being with them, you're not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation."

It seems Offset blew that chance, though, as Cardi filed for divorce earlier this month.

When the divorce filing news broke, a source, who spoke to Page Six, claimed that this second divorce wasn’t a shock to Offset.

“They both have been trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now," the insider said. “It’s not something that happened overnight… They’ve both been on the same page. There wasn’t [pushback]. They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger over time. It’s become unavoidable."

Offset also "liked" an Instagram post hours after the news broke that announced the divorce filing.

After Offset was seen with a woman, later identified as PrettyRedz, at a casino, he took to Instagram Live to address the situation, insisting that the woman is merely a friend, stating, "Shorty ain't my shorty."

"People really need to do the research," he added. "I'm at a public place gambling at a casino with a married 8-month pregnant woman wtf I look like being outside publicly cheating SMD!!!"

A source close to the situation revealed that the recent cheating rumors were not the final straw for Cardi B—she has had enough and is determined not to overlook this latest issue.

“They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else,” the insider said earlier this month. “This is something she wants to do.”

PrettyRedz also squashed the rumors: “It’s completely crazy that I even have to do this. PLEASE. If not for me… PLEASE RESPECT MY LATE HUSBAND. I AM JUST BEGINNING TO GRIEVE. HAVING A NIGHT OUT WITH FAMILY IS NOT A OPPORTUNITY FOR CLICKBAIT!"
