Gymnast Aly Raisman Stuns In Leotard With Important Message for Aerie Signature Line

Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman is over the moon about releasing her second collection with fashion label Aerie, but she is even more excited about the important message and positive impact the new merch is expected to bring.

Raisman took to social media on Thursday as she announced her second collection, although she has been a longtime spokesperson and role model with the body positive-forward fashion brand. The collection of sports bras, tops and bottoms are inspired by "strength, wellness and mindful living," according to Aerie.

Along with the fashionable pieces inspired by strength, Aerie will also be donating a portion of the profits to a non-profit that empowers adults to help prevent sexual abuse of children.

"It means so much to me that Aerie is supportive of this important initiative and also willing to help financially because it will provide more free training for adults who want to become educated on prevention," Aly Raisman said in a statement.

She added, "I hope that every adult who is ever around children takes the course as it provides a better understanding of the warning signs of an abuser, how to handle certain situations, how to protect children around you, and so much more."

Along with designing the items, Aly Raisman is one of the featured models appearing on the Aerie site wearing the new OFFLINE collection. She can be seen wearing one of the signature pieces from the collection, a limited edition Raisman Real Me Leotard. The Olympic gymnast says it is actually a versatile item, and tells StyleCaster, "Someone could wear it in their regular life with jeans or leggings, or they can wear it to gymnastics practice."

However, the leotard is apparently not Raisman's favorite item from the collection.

As for what Aly Raisman is really feeling from the collection, at the moment, she tells Aerie, "my favorite piece is the 'Unapologetically Me' red sports bra. I always loved competing in red, because it is such a fierce and strong color."

She adds, "Red is definitely a statement and I want every girl and woman to feel fierce and powerful when they wear my collection! I hope it’s a reminder to be yourself and that each and every single one of us is enough. There is nothing better than being unapologetically who you are. It is such a good feeling."
