Gymnast Nastia Liukin Unbuttoned To Welcome Pool Weather

Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin is completely unbuttoned in skimpy Daisy Dukes to make pool weather happen. The 31-year-old five-time Olympic medalist was big-time shouting out the Texas sunshine today, posting for her 1 million Instagram followers and reminding them that where she lives, it's always a Hot Girl Summer. Nastia, who left her Russian birthplace as a child to settle in the U.S., has been shouting out Texas up the wazoo this month, with today seeing the 2008 all-around champion prove it's a sweet spot right now. Scroll for the photo. Nastia, who made snowy headlines over the 2020 holidays for her Montana cabin trip, was today showing off both the good weather perks and her killer body while posing poolside, one leg dangling in the water, and picking very summer colors.

All glowing bronze with a gorgeous tan, Nastia cocked her head up to the beating rays as she rocked '50s-style white-rimmed shades, taking in just as much sun on her slim legs as she sat by the water in all-yellow.

Wearing a skimpy, thin-strapped swimsuit in buttercup-yellow, the "Dancing With the Stars" alum kept it a matching affair with a yellow striped shirt worn open and off-the-shoulder, with hints of those Daisy Dukes just about visible. "Just visualizing myself at the beach rn," the gymnast wrote, also tagging herself in Dallas.

The photo comes as Liukin makes headlines for yet another career win. The blonde, who retired aged just 22 back in 2012, now fronts home retailer Pottery Barn, this alongside Facebook App.

Nastia's body flaunts don't always go smoothly. The body-positive star was last year massively skinny-shamed in an October 2020 anorexia storm, one seeing her repost a fan DM asking how she feels about "promoting borderline anorexia looking bodies." The clap-back made the news, as did Liukin this year defending her "gross skinny chicken legs."

Addressing her body shape while speaking to Forbes in 2019, Nastia admitted she doesn't fit into boxes.

“My entire career, I wasn't the standard gymnast type. I was taller, lankier, skinnier, didn't really have the muscle or the quickness or the speed or the power that you're really supposed to have. Yet I became an Olympic all-around gold medalist," she said. Liukin was raised by two Olympic gymnast parents.
