Taylor Swift is "devastated" and reeling from the horrifying terror plot that forced her to cancel the Austrian leg of her Eras Tour.
The singer has reportedly promised her fans in Vienna that she will return "as soon as possible." Her concert promoter, Barracuda Music, informed fans about the cancellation and promised refunds.
Meanwhile, three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the attack and allegedly planned for it. Their plans included driving a car into groups of Taylor Swift fans outside the concert, and they also had homemade explosives.
Taylor Swift Is 'Devastated' About Canceling Part Of Her Tour After Foiled Terror Plot
Swift was forced to cancel the Austrian leg of her Eras Tour after Austrian authorities uncovered a terror plot for her concerts. She was scheduled to perform on August 8, 9, and 10 at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna but ultimately canceled the show.
Sources told the Mirror that Swift was "horrified" by the possibility of a terror attack at her shows and couldn't take the risk.
They said, "Taylor has been devastated by this. She is devastated for the fans who have been waiting for years to see her. But the thought of what could have happened if the concerts had been targeted by a terror attack is horrifying, and she would never risk the safety of her fans."
Despite the shocking incident, Swift reportedly intends to return to Vienna to hold replacement shows.
"But she has told her team that she wants to try to return to Vienna as soon as possible in the future," the source noted. "She is very conscious of how disappointed her fans in Austria are."
Three Teens Planned An Attack For The Concert
According to the Daily Mail, the director-general for public safety, Franz Rufhas, held a press conference where he revealed information about the three teenagers who have been arrested in connection with the foiled terror attack.
He shared that the main suspect, a 19-year-old, was arrested in Ternitz, which is south of Vienna.
The second suspect, a 17-year-old, was arrested in the Austrian capital. An intelligence official also revealed to Reuters that the third suspect, a 15-year-old, was questioned by the authorities.
Rufhas shared that the suspect took "preparatory actions" for the attack and was focused on Swift's shows.
He further explained that the 19-year-old's plans included quitting his job and telling people he had "big plans" for the day of the show.
The 17-year-old also recently split from his girlfriend, and the two boys had a "clear social change," including significantly changing their appearance.
The Suspects Planned To Drive A Car Into Groups Of Taylor Swift Fans
Austrian media have also revealed more details about the teenager's alleged plans for the terror attack.
It reportedly included driving a car into groups of Swift's fans waiting outside the concert stadium and attacking the mostly young fans with knives and machetes.
According to security officials, the 19-year-old has fully confessed to the terror attack plans.
Rufhas also revealed that the teenager had manufactured explosives at his home and stole the chemical substances to build the bomb from his workplace.
Police Found Blank Ammunition And Fake Money
Police also found blank ammunition, €21,000 worth of counterfeit money, and a blue police flashing light and siren at the teenager's home, which he planned to use to aid his transport.
All three suspects have remained unnamed, but the 19-year-old has North Macedonian roots, while the others have Turkish heritage.
According to reports, they had all pledged an oath of allegiance to the Islamic State group (ISIS) in early July.
The head of the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence, Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, also shared that the teens were "clearly radicalized in the direction of the Islamic State and think it is right to kill infidels."
