The buzz surrounding Martin as a potential cast member on "Saturday Night Live" to portray Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has been quickly quelled. Despite being a top contender for the role due to his uncanny resemblance to the politician, the legendary comedian politely declined the offer.

He disclosed that he refused the role after producer Lorne Michaels reached out to him. Martin also candidly admitted that while he shares some physical similarities with Walz, he lacks the impressionist skills required for a recurring role.

Speaking with LA Times, the actor explained his decision, saying, "I wanted to say no and, by the way, he wanted me to say no. I said, 'Lorne, I'm not an impressionist. You need someone who can really nail the guy.' I was picked because I have gray hair and glasses."
