NBC Replaces Scarlett Johansson's Husband Following Medical Hiccups In Tahiti
News of Jost's exit as a correspondent for the surfing competitions in Tahiti recently broke, with sources confirming NBC had replaced him with Luke Bradnam. The change came a month after the media personality took up the role in July.
Jost's correspondent gig was plagued with problems from the start, as he received a terrible welcome from the island's coral reef. He severely injured his foot while in the ocean and shared a picture of the aftermath on Instagram.
The snap captured three of Jost's toes covered in gauze, while the remaining digits were red with minor cuts. Despite the hiccup, the 42-year-old didn't lose his sense of humor.
He partly captioned the snap, "been to the Olympic medical tent more than any of the athletes." Unfortunately, the coral reef injury was just the beginning of Jost's problems, per Page Six.

While in Tahiti, Jost opened up about NBC's unconventional setup on the island in a broadcast episode. He revealed the network had a less-than-ideal spot on air, showing he was shooting from a poultry.
"I apologize that we were a little delayed getting to you. You're not gonna believe it based on this yard full of chickens, but we had some technical difficulties," Jost joked. He also gave an update on his injured foot, adding:
"I actually have been walking in place in this yard because if I stand still, ants begin crawling inside the wounds. Not something I anticipated."
Jost revealed he had to see on-site medics "every day" because his foot had not improved. While battling this problem, his woes increased with the sudden appearance of an ear infection.

In a July broadcast, Jost revealed Tahiti continued to be unwelcoming health-wise, saying: "I woke up this morning and discovered that I had added ear infection to my growing list of ailments."
"So I'm now on three different medications — four if you count piña coladas," the SNL star joked. He kept his sense of humor going in a segment he filmed ahead of the surfing semifinals and finals, which was delayed over minor surf conditions.
"Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Semis and finals of Olympic surfing happening right now in Tahiti. At the Wall of Skulls," Jost captioned the video. When he wasn't getting injured, the comedian worked as a "Sex Santa."

Earlier this month, The Blast reported that sex had become a trending topic at the Paris Games after a shocking distribution of condoms. 200,000 male condoms, 20,000 female condoms, and 10,000 oral dams were provided to athletes at the Olympic Village.
The same intimacy awareness occurred in Tahiti, with Jost playing an active role. He addressed the living situation of the surfers in an interview, revealing:
"Some are staying with families here … but then there's a whole group of athletes that are also staying on this kind of weird cruise ship that's just parked out in the harbor."
"They always talk about the Olympics Villages and how many condoms they give out for all the athletes. With the cruise ship, I've been going by on a jet ski and sort of just [throwing] condoms … like a Sex Santa," Jost claimed.
