West is known for his many eccentric ways, but his antisemitic tweet from October 2022 stands out as one of his most controversial actions.

The rapper recently provided further context to this incident, revealing that he was "drinking" when he made the tweet.

"I was drinking when I put up the DEFCON tweet," the 47-year-old said on a recently released episode of Candace Owens' podcast "Candace."

Speaking further, the rapper hinted that the alcohol clouded his judgment and led him to express thoughts that he might have otherwise kept to himself.

"You wanna know what alcohol I had inside me? Hennessy. It turns us gray. The demons [come out]," West added about the incident, per Page Six.

The Death Con 3 tweet came a day after West posted screenshots of a conversation with Diddy in which he accused the embattled rapper of being controlled by Jews.

"Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me," West wrote across the screenshot and shared on Instagram, per Forward.

The social media company removed the post shortly after, and the rapper's account was then locked according to protocols.

West then took to X (formerly Twitter), writing that he wanted to go "death con 3" on "THE JEWISH PEOPLE" and that they had "toyed" with him and "tried to blackball" people who were against their agenda.

He added to the tweet, "The funny thing is I actually can't be anti-Semitic because black people are actually Jew also."

In the days after the tweet,  West continued to double down on his comments, claiming that they weren't anti-Semitic or any form of hate speech.

"You're saying it's antisemitic, but I don't believe in that term," the rapper said during a 20-minute segment on Chris Cuomo's NewsNation show. "One thing is, Black people are also Jew. I classify as Jew also, so I actually can't be an antisemite. So the term is actually, uh, it's not factual."

In the conversation, West added a new twist by accusing Jews of controlling the media and dictating what Black people can say.

"Jewish people own Black voice," West said. "I'm coming from a place of love and a place of we're not going to be owned by the Jewish media anymore."
