The "Bongos" hitmaker is set to release new music later this year despite being embroiled in a divorce battle with her estranged husband, Offset. She is also working on the project while expecting her third child.

Cardi B has been making waves since she filed to end her marriage again. However, going through a breakup seems to be the motivation she needs to drop a new album.

According to new reports, Cardi filed a legal petition for the rights of two phrases, "Defamation of Character" and "Intrusive Thoughts," which she claimed would be used in her music albums.

Her trademark application noted that these phrases would also be used in every area a singer could find profits from their music. The list, per TMZ, included music videos, downloadable music files, and more.

It was unclear how these phrases would be incorporated into her upcoming album, but they could be the titles of her new singles or another project. Cardi's trademark application comes days after sources confirmed her determination to drop new music.

The Blast recently reported that Cardi was set to release new music this year despite the ongoing drama in her life. Insiders claimed she had completed over three-quarters of the project, even with her third pregnancy.

Since Cardi was no stranger to performing while pregnant, recording an album with a bun in her oven might not be a problem. Even if there were challenges, sources stressed that she was dead-set on releasing new music this year.

The rapper's upcoming project reportedly had an impressive lineup of prominent artists, but insiders didn't share any names. Nonetheless, Offset probably won't make the list, given his estrangement from his wife.

The divorce drama between Cardi and Offset took a surprising twist earlier this month when she announced their third child was on the way. The entertainer broke the news on Instagram, sharing stunning images from a maternity shoot.

Cardi flaunted her baby bump in a sexy red ensemble and seemingly credited the unborn child for motivating her to end her marriage to Offset. The soon-to-be mother of three wrote:

"With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you. You have brought me more love, more life, and most of all, renewed my power!"

Cardi continued, "You've reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish."

While Cardi enjoyed maternity shoots and preparations for her new album, Offset, on the other hand, was facing financial hurdles. The Blast shared that his name popped up on two federal tax liens, mounting a significant debt.

As of April 23, the former Migos member owed $1,575,266 in federal tax lien before being hit with a secondary lien for $32,963 from California. The new debt was filed months earlier, on June 11, with a court clerk confirming the news.

The source claimed that the overall debt of $1.6 million remains unpaid, adding to Offset's financial responsibilities after his divorce from Cardi. His estranged wife asked him to contribute to their children's well-being.

In her divorce filing, Cardi asked the court for primary custody of her children, daughter Kulture and son Wave. The list extended to her third pregnancy, which she also included in her demands for child support.

Cardi requested that Offset continue to shoulder the financial responsibilities for their children's well-being. It was unclear if the pair had a prenuptial agreement, but the pregnant rapper demanded equal sharing of their properties.
