Ex-'RHOBH' Star Lisa Vanderpump Reacts To Lala Kent's Baby News

Lisa Vanderpump reacted to Lala Kent's baby news during an interview on Monday, just hours after her "Vanderpump Rules" co-star publicly confirmed the birth of her first child, daughter Ocean Kent Emmett. 

"Lala's just had a baby actually this morning, so that's really good," Vanderpump toldE! News while promoting her latest reality series, "Overserved With Lisa Vanderpump," on March 15.

Kent welcomed daughter Ocean with fiancé Randall Emmett hours after Emmett confirmed she'd been admitted into the hospital weeks before her due date.

While Vanderpump had gotten word of Kent and Emmett's baby girl's arrival, she confirmed to E! News that she hadn't yet spoken to her cast mate. 

"I'm very close to them, she's even on my show 'Overserved,' but I just thought the last thing she wants...They were saying to me, ‘Are you going to call her?' I said, ‘No, give me an address, I can send her flowers,'" Vanderpump explained. 

According to Vanderpump, she prefers to give Kent some time alone with her baby before she touches base.

"I thought I don't think she wants, a new mother, on the phone like, ‘Hey Lala, it's me.' Just save your energy. I'll be calling her later this afternoon. I just want to give her a minute," Vanderpump explained.

As "Vanderpump Rules" fans may recall, Kent and Emmett first shared their baby news with Vanderpump live on their podcast, "Give Them Lala... With Randall," in September 2020. 

"A baby! Oh my goodness! A little baby Emmett! Oh my gosh! How exciting for you guys!" Vanderpump exclaimed at the time, via a report from Bravo's "The Daily Dish." 

"You know what? It makes me want to cry. But I don't want to cry because my eyelashes will fall off," Vanderpump continued.

Also during the episode of Kent and Emmett's podcast, Vanderpump told Kent, "I always knew you were capable of great things" and added that she's had a "soft spot" for her since she came to work for her at SUR Restaurant years ago.

Prior to sharing the news with Vanderpump, Kent broke the news to her own podcast audience.

"I am pregnant... I am so excited," Kent said at the time of her pregnancy announcement. "I feel very maternal and motherly."

Kent's announcement aired on her birthday in September 2020 and weeks later, she and Emmett learned that their first child, his third, would be a girl. 

Since then, Kent has been preparing her daughter's nursery and make sure she has everything she needs at her Bel Air home.
