Olympics Swimmer Luana Alonso Reportedly Kicked Out Of The Athletes' Village

Alonso came to Paris as a member of the Paraguayan swimming team but failed to qualify for the semi-finals in the 100m butterfly. She finished sixth place in the event, earning her official boot from the games.

Despite her loss, Alonso remained in the athletes' village where competitors could socialize, eat, and train together — a benefit she should have enjoyed until the end of the Olympic games on Sunday, August 11.

But she lost that opportunity when the Paraguay team's general manager, Larissa Schaerer, refused to allow her to stay in the athletes' village. In a statement issued on Sunday, she claimed Alonso's presence had an inappropriate effect on her team.
