Zac Efron Says He Is 'Happy And Healthy' After Brief Hospitalization

Zac Efron expressed his gratitude to fans in a bid to dispel any rumors following a brief hospital stay following a swimming pool accident.

Efron's picturesque European vacation hit a snag when a health scare interrupted his stay. Reports indicate that he was having a relaxed swim at his Ibiza villa when an unforeseen incident sent him to the hospital.

Now back in vacation mode, Zac Efron is assuring everyone that he is fine and ready to continue his journey.

On August 4, the "High School Musical" alum took to Instagram Stories to let everyone know he was on the mend. "Happy and healthy," Efron wrote, sharing a snapshot of himself lifting weights while shirtless in swim trunks on an exercise ball on a deck. 

"Thanks for the well wishes," he added, showing off his trademark muscular physique. The photo and message come as a relief to fans, ensuring that their beloved star is back to enjoying his European vacation in good spirits.

Efron's Instagram post comes after he was hospitalized as a "precautionary measure." While specifics about what happened remain undisclosed, it appears that two staff members found Efron at his villa.

The Blast reported that the actor was rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, the situation was deemed minor, and Efron was released just hours later. Reports also confirmed that the "Hairspray" star is now "recovering just fine."

Efron has been living the high life as he explores Europe, but the actor is proving to be a master of disguise. While the award-winning star has been spotted in various glamorous locations, including Paris and Mykonos, he has managed to maintain a relatively low profile.

Efron enjoyed a five-day getaway in Mykonos with Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky. The duo chose a secluded villa to escape the prying eyes of the paparazzi. However, they still indulged in the island's vibrant nightlife, appearing at the renowned Lio Mykonos nightclub.

Despite the dim lighting, Efron opted for an extra layer of anonymity with a hat and sunglasses. Even so, the charming actor could not resist a few photo ops with the club's dancers and a well-known PR figure. 

The night concluded with a private villa party where phones were strictly prohibited.

While making the most of his European summer, Efron proved that Ibiza was the ultimate playground. The 36-year-old was spotted soaking up the sun on a luxurious yacht, flaunting his impressive physique. 

Shirtless and sporting a casual look, Efron was joined by friends as they cruised the crystal-clear waters. When the day turned to evening and the yacht docked for dinner, the "17 Again" actor traded his swimwear for a polo shirt, maintaining his effortlessly cool style. 

But the fun did not stop there. Efron made a surprise appearance on stage with world-famous DJ Martin Garrix at the iconic Ushuaïa Ibiza. A video capturing the electrifying moment showed the two stars losing themselves to the music, their energy matched by the enthusiastic audience.

Before recent events, Efron faced a more reflective period last year. The Blast reported that the TV personality spoke about the possibility of portraying his late Perry in a future biopic.

While attending the world premiere of his film "The Iron Claw" in Dallas, Texas, Efron shared, "I'm honored to hear he was thinking of me to play him. We'll see. I'd be honored to do it."

Efron expressed his sadness over the older star's passing and fondly remembered their collaboration on the 2009 film "17 Again." Describing Perry as a mentor, Efron recalled:

"I looked up to him, I learned comedic timing from that guy. When we were filming 17 Again, it was surreal to look across and see him there because I had learned so much from his entire career."

The pair's on-screen chemistry in the movie was undeniable, with Efron playing the younger version of Perry's character. Entertainment reporter Athenna Crosby shared that the late star reportedly "wanted a movie about his life." 

Crosby, who dined with Perry at the Hotel Bel-Air just a day before his death, revealed that he had specifically envisioned Efron in the leading role. She disclosed that Perry praised Efron's performance in the film, stating that he "did such a good job."

Despite the health scare that briefly interrupted his vacation, Zac Efron's positive outlook means he remains in good spirits.
