Kathy Wakile opened up about her strained relationship with her cousin-in-law, Melissa Gorga, during a recent appearance on Bravo TV's "Life After Bravo."
Years after leaving her full-time position on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" and weeks after her son, Joseph Wakile, publicly called out Gorga and her husband, Joe Gorga, on Instagram, Wakile spoke about the drama between them.
“[Reality TV] is a small part in your life, and you live your life and whatever gets aired, gets aired and you’re still living your life,” Wakile explained, according to a report from Page Sixon March 15.

“But, for certain people, people live in that bubble and they don’t realize that there’s a whole world outside of the bubble. It’s sad that that happens, but yeah; I stepped out of the bubble,” Wakile continued.
According to Wakile, who joined the cast of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” in 2011 for season three, she once had a great relationship with Gorga and Teresa Giudice. However, after the ladies' relationship with one another became strained, Wakile often found herself in an awkward position.
Kathy Wakile Never Thought She And Melissa Gorga Would Be Completely Estranged
“I thought, ‘Sure, well, we may have some words, but we’ll be able to resolve it,'” Wakile recalled. “We never really had a real disagreement before.”
Now, years later, Wakile and Gorga are no longer speaking at all, which the former Bravo star said she “never expected" would happen in their relationship.
“I never went on thinking that I was going to be like, on a side, you know? It was never supposed to be a side because we were one family,” she added.
Kathy Wakile Has Moved On From Her Relationship With The Gorga's
Although Wakile doesn't have a relationship with Gorga or Giudice at this time, she doesn't harbor any ill will towards either of them, or their families.
“I wish them well, but I’ve moved on,” Wakile said. “You try to do the best you can in a relationship and that happens in real life. That happens without reality TV taking a part in it.”
While Wakile may not have any negative feelings towards Gorga, her son, Joseph, recently referred to the two of them as "farm animals" after it was confirmed they had not attended his sister's wedding.

Following the shocking insult, Gorga appeared on “Watch What Happens Live" and told host Andy Cohen that the Wakile family was likely bitter about their exits from "RHONJ."
“Look, I know they are a little sour about not being on the show any longer, and it’s unfortunate, to be honest. I wish them all well," she stated.
