Drake Curse Back On After Kawhi Leonard Signs With L.A. Clippers

By Gary Trock

Drake had a very good June ... July, not so much.

Weeks after hoisting the NBA Championship trophy during the Toronto Raptors' victory parade, the team's best player has gone south to warmer temps and a new basketball team.

Kawhi Leonard had been sought after by many organizations, including the Raptors, after becoming a free agent following his amazing run during the NBA Finals.

In the end, he has reportedly signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in a gigantic 4-year, $141 million contract.

The Raptors were not able to hold on to their star player, even though they had involved Drake in the pitch meetings to get Leonard to stay in The North.

Fans are not letting Drake off the hook, and reminding October's Very Own that his curse is back in full effect.

"The Drake curse is still a thing. He drove Kawhi away," a Toronto fan posted online.

Another wrote, "Drake curse still in motion they won the chip but they lost the best player they got in mad long."

The "NBA On TNT" may have had the best reaction, with a full produced skit between Drake and Leonard.

Drake had reportedly offered Leonard the chance to be a part of his OVO record label, but it wasn't enough to keep him in Toronto.

It's a big hit for the hip-hop star after he became the face of the Toronto Raptors during the epic run to claim the NBA Championship.

He even traveled with the team to party in Las Vegas afterwards, and dropped two new tracks in honor of their victory.

Drake has not yet publicly addressed Leonard heading to Los Angeles, but we think his next song about the Raptors may be an emotional ballad.
