If you’ve ever visited Las Vegas, you know there’s so much to do and so much fun to be had. When you’re done gambling and need some interactive fun, AREA15 is the place to be. This immersive entertainment and art complex combines art installations, interactive play and experiences, live events, dining, and more!
Since opening its doors in 2020, this multisensory destination has grown by adding more attractions and fun and is about to grow some more in the coming months. No matter your age, there’s fun just waiting for you at AREA15!
AREA15 Offers Fun And Excitement For The Whole Family In Las Vegas!
There’s so much to do and see at AREA15, you’re going to need a few hours, or possibly even days!
I recently went to experience it all with my son Jesse, 18, and while we knew it would be a fun night out, we didn’t fully understand just how much fun it was going to be until we got there.
After walking around and checking everything out, we decided to start at Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, and what a perfect choice! After about an hour of enjoying all the twists and turns in there, we headed to a few of the other attractions - AR Dodgeball, Laser Maze, Museum Fiasco, and LIFTOFF, before heading across the way to Illuminarium.
Exploring Every Inch Of Meow Wolf's Omega Mart
I knew Omega Mart was going to deliver but I didn’t expect the degree that it did.
Omega Mart is the newest interactive experience from the art collective, Meow Wolf. It opened in 2021 and is a big hit among all ages.
Once you enter the doors of the “supermarket” the fun begins. It might look like an average grocery store upon entering, but at a closer look, it’s far from average. Secret doors and openings will transport you to another dimension, with each room or area offering something unique.
When we first walked in, we assumed that the grocery store was the entire attraction. And while we knew there were secret doors and pathways, it didn’t occur to us that it would take us up multiple floors for interesting and fun activities.
At one point, we literally had to rock climb and at another, crawl through a small opening into another room. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, there’s more to explore. And let’s talk about the picture-perfect backdrops for selfies and fun vacation photos. We had so much fun in every square inch of Omega Mart and literally can’t wait to go back when my other sons visit.
So Much To Do Under One Roof At AREA15!
There are so many fun attractions under one roof, and then there are some outside and in other buildings on the property, making it easy to spend an entire day here.
We didn’t have time to enjoy everything so we picked a few things to experience and just checked out some of the other attractions so we could plan ahead for the next visit.
I ended up getting annihilated at AR Dodgeball, but it was still fun! We also tried out Museum Fiasco, Laser Maze, and LIFTOFF.
Laser Maze is a room of lasers that you either have to avoid or smash (you get to choose before entering the room). You also get to pick the level you want to play, so we chose a progressive level that starts out easy and continually gets more difficult.
For AR Dodgeball, augmented reality glasses give you the feeling of a real dodgeball game, minus balls actually hitting you. This virtual reality game is fun and easy to do and is sure to get you laughing (I know I was, even though I lost big time!)
One other attraction we checked out was Museum Fiasco, an immersive audiovisual installation that was giving fun nightclub vibes. The sounds and lights were synchronized giving the perfect ambiance for some dancing or taking cool pics.
Facing Fears For Breathtaking Views And Visiting Outer Space
After we checked out all the other cool attractions so we knew what we wanted to do next time we visited, such as Dueling Axes, Five Iron Golf, and Asylum Bar + Arcade, we grabbed some iced coffee from Conduit Cafe and headed outside to LIFTOFF. (The peanut butter blended coffee drink I had was the absolute BEST!)
LIFTOFF is something I’ve had nightmares about simply because I have a fear of heights. But I had to woman up and get on this ride if I wanted to check out the amazing sunset views over the mountains and the perfect view of the Strip.
After getting your seatbelt on, they give you a phone holder to put around your neck so you can safely take pictures without the fear of dropping your phone. The ride slowly goes up into the sky before hanging out there for a while, slowly spinning in a circle so you get all views of the mountains, the Strip, and everything in between. When you’re at the top, be sure to check out the roof of AREA15. It fits the theme of the complex perfectly. The entire ride was about 10 minutes and even though I was a little terrified, it was something I would most definitely do again.
After LIFTOFF, we walked over to the building across from AREA15 to check out Illuminarium. This was quite the experience, and not exactly as I expected. (It was actually much better!)
Illuminarium is a sensory experience that is brought to life through 4K laser projection. Imagine a movie but on all walls and even the floor, with feeling, amazing sound, and the opportunity to take pics and videos right up against the projections.
We caught “SPACE: A Journey to the Moon & Beyond,” and our timing was so amazing that the group we experienced this with was from NASA, which was in Vegas for a convention. They absolutely loved the experience and that’s saying a lot coming from people who work at NASA and are fully engulfed in the space experience.
AREA15 Is Only Getting Bigger And Better
As if all the amazing attractions at AREA 15 weren’t enough for an amazing experience, they will be welcoming two new attractions soon - John Wick Horror Experience and Superplastic.
John Wick Horror Experience is a 12,000-square-foot attraction with a curated collection of immersive and interactive experiences.
According to a press release, “Guests step through the doors of the Las Vegas Continental and into the fantastical underworld of John Wick, where they navigate a high stakes adventure as well as visit a themed bar and retail shop open to the general public.”
Each group of guests will get specific missions and will be drawn into the Wick universe for an action-packed experience.
Superplastic, the IP factory renowned across animated entertainment, fashion, music, and collectible art toys, will partner with AREA15 to create a new experience.
According to a press release, “Superplastic is a character-driven intellectual property company that creates synthetic celebrities with millions of followers worldwide and who appear in social media, music, gaming, high-end collectibles, fashion, animated entertainment, web3, and live experiences. The company sells tens of millions of dollars in real and virtual products annually, and has collaborated with Gucci, Fortnite, Mercedes-Benz, Tommy Hilfiger, Christie's Auction House, J. Balvin, Kidsuper, Pusha-T, Paris Hilton, Post Malone, The Weeknd, Vince Staples, Rico Nasty, and more.”
Both new attractions will be joining AREA15 later this year.
My son and I both agreed that AREA15 is worth visiting multiple times. It was more fun than we imagined and we both can't wait to go back to experience more of the attractions. We HIGHLY recommend visiting when in Las Vegas!
