Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles, two-fifths of Team USA's Women's Gymnastics squad, are not just teammates but also close friends. Currently sharing a room in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, the duo has given fans a peek behind the curtain with their fun TikTok videos.
When they aren't dancing for social media, they are performing in the gymnasium in an attempt to take home the gold. Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, and the rest of Team USA took home the gold medal for the Team competition earlier this week, while Suni won the bronze medal for Individual All-Around on Thursday.
Following their win, Jordan Chiles and Suni Lee spoke out about superstitions they have heading into competitions.
How Jordan Chiles Is Part Of Suni Lee's Superstition
When asked about any superstitions, Jordan Chiles immediately pointed to her friend and teammate, revealing that Suni Lee has a big superstition.
"[Jordan] does my hair and if she doesn't get it right the first time, it's going to be a bad me day," Suni said in an interview with "Access Hollywood." "It [will] be a bad day."
Jordan said she always does whatever it takes to ensure it ends up perfect and up to Suni's standards (talk about pressure.) "I don't like to look, and then she's like, 'Look. Make sure it's perfect,'" Suni said, to which her teammate and close friend replied, "Because I don't wanna redo it. We got a time crunch."
The two chuckled as they recalled Suni's hair routine the day she took home bronze in Individual All-Around. "It was a good one," Suni said of Jordan's hair masterpiece--and it seems that it was as she put on a stellar performance, landing her a spot on the podium.
Fans Call Jordan Chiles The 'Ultimate Girl's Girl'
Social media users flooded the comments, praising Jordan for being a "girl's girl" and "killing" it with the support.
"You know Jordan gon always come thru for her girls," one user wrote. "She ate Suni hair up fr."
"Jo is the definition of girl's girl," another said. "Great teammate. Love watching her."
"Jordan deserves the world!!!! She is the backbone of the team!!!" a third commented as a fourth wrote, "That’s a teammate."
Suni Lee Says She Didn't Think She'd Make The Podium In All-Around
On Thursday, heading into her floor routine, Suni Lee was locked in a tie for fourth place, with her competitors only fractions of a point apart from one another.
She ended up nailing her floor, securing her a spot on the podium. After the competition came to a close, Suni took home the bronze medal, leaving her "in shock."
"I didn't think that I was going to be able to podium," she said on the "TODAY" show. "So like coming in my floor routine, I literally told myself like, you know, we're just going to end it off the right way and I'm just going to do everything that I can to just finish it off, because being here is an accomplishment itself."
Taking Home The Bronze Individual All-Around
After seeing her score on the floor, she was flooded with emotions, especially after the health battles she had faced over the past few years. "I honestly started getting a little bit emotional. I don't know if you can tell, but I like almost started tearing up," she told Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb. "But I was just like, so happy."
"I came off and my coach was like, 'I told you.' He was like, 'I knew you could do it.' And he's like, 'I'm just so proud of you,' because he's like, 'I will always bet on you,'" the Olympian continued. "It means so much."
As The Blast reported, Suni Lee battled an unidentified kidney disease, which "turned the world that [she] knew upside-down."
"My kidney disease has been difficult, and I know firsthand that sometimes the cause of your disease isn't clear-cut," she previously said. "But I want to encourage others to be informed about their kidney health and become a self-advocate for a treatment plan that can allow them to live their best life. I'm thrilled to work with the American Kidney Fund and I'm looking forward to getting started."
