Pin Trading Is A Long-Standing Tradition

Snoop Dogg's grand gesture left a refreshing taste in Gauff's mouth as she described it as "the best pin that I've ever gotten."

The tennis star is not wrong! Pin trading between athletes at the Olympics dates back to the first contemporary Olympics in Athens in 1896 when the first cloth collectibles were given to athletes, per NBC News.

Since then, fans and stars have developed a culture of collecting pins, and even now, superstars like Stephen Curry and Serena Williams are fans of the activity.

The celebrated American basketballer was spotted bartering the badges on the Team USA boat during the opening ceremony

Back in 2000, Williams expressed that trading pins was on her to-do list at the Sydney Olympics despite the fact that she did not qualify to compete in singles at those Games.
