Shannon Beador Secured A 10-Year Spousal Support Payment In 2019 Divorce Settlement

Shannon Beador emerged victorious in her 2019 divorce settlement with ex-husband David Beador, securing a substantial financial package. 

The generous financial package awarded to the "Real Housewives of Orange County" star surfaces as Shannon faces legal challenges with her ex, John Janssen.

The settlement details, which are now public, certainly provides Shannon Beador with the much-needed financial stability she needs as she navigates her life post-divorce.

After a tumultuous 17-year marriage that ended in separation in September 2017, the couple officially filed for divorce three months later. By April 24, 2019, the two had signed their divorce settlement, finalizing the dissolution of their marriage effective July 1, 2019.

The settlement included several key financial agreements. In one part,  David was required to pay $2,935 monthly in child support and share medical expenses for their children.

The spousal support arrangement was particularly noteworthy. The settlement provided Shannon with a ten-year spousal support agreement worth $10,000 per month, adjusted for child support payments. 

This support was set to continue for ten years, ending on April 1, 2029. Additionally, the deal included a substantial one-time lump sum payment. 

David agreed to pay Shannon $1.4 million to "equalize the division of community property." While the monthly support was lower than the temporary amount Shannon received during the divorce proceedings, the lump sum payment proved to be a substantial boost. 

In Touch reported that the exes also reached an agreement on custody and property division in addition to financial settlements. The pair agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their three daughters, Sophie, Stella, and Adeline.

Both parties committed to maintaining open communication, fostering healthy parent-child relationships, and refraining from making negative comments about each other in the presence of their children.

In terms of property division, Shannon was awarded two luxury cars, bank accounts, her businesses, and furniture. David, on the other hand, retained ownership of a home in Corona, California, a fleet of vehicles, his construction business, and his personal belongings.

While David initially agreed to the significant financial support, he may have had second thoughts a year later when he discovered he was going to be a father again.

At the time, The Blast reported that David and his then-fiancée, Lesley Cook, were expecting their first child together. The 59-year-old shared his excitement, stating, "Lesley and I are excited to be expecting."

Lesley added to the anticipation with a playful Instagram post featuring a literal bun in an oven and the caption, "You're just a small bump," sparking speculation before the official announcement.

The new baby was David's fourth child and Lesley's third, as she has two children from a previous relationship. 

David's engagement to Lesley marked a fresh start after his nearly 20-year marriage with Shannon ended amid revelations of his infidelity. 

Despite their efforts to reconcile after the scandal, the couple ultimately decided to part ways. However, nine months after finalizing his divorce from Shannon, the father-of-four proposed to his new love. 

Lesley shared the joyful news on Instagram, flaunting her sparkling diamond ring with the caption, "Looking forward to eternity with my love. I LOVE YOU LOVE!!!"

David also confirmed the engagement, expressing their excitement. "Yes, Lesley and I are excited to be engaged. We are celebrating in Miami and then going to the Super Bowl," he shared.

The "Real Housewives of Orange County" star faced financial reckoning despite her lucrative divorce settlement. In March, her former flame, John Janssen, filed a lawsuit alleging she owed him a hefty $75,000.

The Blast reported that Janssen's lawsuit, lodged in Orange County Superior Court, accused Shannon of breaching an oral contract and committing promissory fraud. 

Janssen claimed the former Bravolebrity borrowed $40,000 in January 2022 for a cosmetic facelift procedure. The second, a $35,000 personal check, was issued in May 2023 for unspecified needs. 

They were reportedly borrowed with promises of repayment that went unfulfilled. Janssen asserted that despite multiple requests, Shannon refused to repay the loans, including accrued interest.

The lawsuit sought to recover the borrowed sum plus interest, legal costs, and attorney fees.

While Shannon Beador's divorce settlement offers a substantial financial cushion, her legal troubles with Janssen highlight that her post-divorce life remains tumultuous.
