Waka Flocka Flame is igniting a flame after sharing a controversial social media post regarding his political stance.
The 38-year-old has thrown his support behind Donald Trump for the 2024 Presidential Election. The rapper admits he’s not your average political advocate and doesn’t rock a MAGA hat, but he’s wholeheartedly backing Trump’s bid for re-election.
On Wednesday, Waka Flocka took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to endorse former President Donald Trump as he shared his reasons for backing the 34-time convicted felon.
Waka Flocka Flame Stirs Up Controversy After Taking Political Stance
In a two-part social media post, Waka Flocka began with, "Trump [is] still my president I don’t have to stand with a red hat or dance or stage for money in my pockets… didn’t push me this direction… this is my choice like I choose not to eat pork but do that make me hate pork lovers or disrespect their character…nor will I act like…"
Just minutes later, he continued his thoughts in a separate post. "Politics my m o… I just want my rights. My freedom, equality, men/women to pay for bad policing, women to have rights and make choices for self, teachers to be paid more, and the list goes on," he said. "But hey I’m just a lil o entertainer with a micro voice I know no1 is listening."
This isn't the first time he has shown support for Trump. Back in October, Waka shared a selfie with the former President on Instagram.
Americans React To Waka Flocka Flame's Social Media Post
Some social media users backed the rapper, expressing thoughts such as "And you should be allowed to support Trump. Keep grinding my man" and "Much love and respect bro. This is true integrity true freethinking!"
"Trump is a savage. We need more authenticity in politics, not this fake a-- bullsh-t," a third said.
Others, however, questioned Waka Flocka's stance. "I have now come to the conclusion that all washed out rappers are coming to the forefront to push Trump for clout & engagement. It’s sad," one user said.
"Shame on you," another wrote.
Other Celebrities Endorsing Donald Trump
Following the attempted assassination of Trump last month, Logan Paul took to X to share his support for the former President. "To survive an assassination attempt by mere millimeters then stop your security so you can raise your fist in defiance of death is the most bada-- thing I’ve ever seen in my life," he wrote.
Plus, actress and stand-up comic Roseanne Barr, who was let go from her self-titled ABC sitcom in 2018 after posting a tweet with racist language, has been a vocal supporter of Trump.
Kid Rock has also been a steadfast Trump supporter, among the first celebrities to back him and even paying a visit to the White House in 2018.
Donald Trump Becomes A Convicted Felon
Waka Flocka's stance comes just months after the former President was convicted of 34 charges linked to a $130,000 payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
After two days of deliberation, a New York jury found Trump guilty on all 34 charges. The prosecution argued that the payment was a form of "hush money" linked to a 2006 encounter with Trump, aiming to sway the 2016 election results.
"We are a nation in decline, serious decline of people pouring into our country right now, from prisons and from mental institutions. Terrorists and they're taking over our country," the former President said after the conviction was read. "We have a country that's in big trouble, but this was a rigged decision right from day one."
"With a conflicted judge who should have never been allowed to try this case never. And we will fight for our constitution," he added.
Kamala Harris Gains Endorsements
After Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, he endorsed Kamala Harris, and many celebrities followed in his footsteps.
Actress Viola Davis said, "What people want is simple. They want an America as good as its promise. I'm with her!"
"Frozen" voice actor Josh Gad said, "This must be an incredibly difficult moment for [Joe Biden] and his family, and I am sending all of my support and love and vowing to do whatever I can to get Kamala Harris elected so that my girls can see that a woman in the United States can become leader of the free world for the first time in 235 years. After all the other guy in the race is simply way too old to hold office."
And George Clooney told CNN, "We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest."
