Swift has shared her reaction to the tragic death of two kids at a stabbing incident in Southport, England.
The children were killed at a Swift-themed yoga and dance class organized for kids at the town's Hart Place, and the event was advertised for ages 6-11.
According to a report, Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy confirmed the stabbing incident and the deaths of two children in a statement.
It also confirmed that nine other children were injured during the incident and that six kids are in critical condition.
Kennedy also shared that two adults were injured and are in critical condition. She said, "We believe that the adults who were injured were bravely trying to protect the children who were being attacked." There's been no update on the condition of the injured and if there have been any more fatalities.
Taylor Swift Addressed The Tragic Event On Instagram
On Tuesday, Swift took to her Instagram page to share her reaction to the tragedy. The "Delicate" singer wrote, "The horror of yesterday's attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I'm just completely in shock... The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders."
Swift further wrote that she was horrified because the victims were "just little kids at a dance class."
She added, "I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families."
Swift is just one of multiple public figures who have addressed the tragic incident.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke about the incident in a post to X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.
He wrote, "Horrendous and deeply shocking news emerging from Southport. My thoughts are with all those affected. I would like to thank the police and emergency services for their swift response. I am being kept updated as the situation develops."
A Teenager Was Arrested For The Crime
Merseyside Police have announced that they've arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the crime.
At the press conference, Kennedy said the young man was taken into custody and that they were investigating him on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
The statement shared that the police responded to a property on Hart Street around 11:50 a.m. local time, where they "detained a male and seized a knife." They further said that the stabbing is not being treated as a terror-related incident, and they aren't looking for any other suspects.
The statement added, "At this early stage, enquiries are ongoing to establish the motive for this tragic incident and we would urge people not to speculate while the investigation is ongoing."
Hospital Services Released Statements On The Stabbing Incident
After the incident, North West Ambulance Service released a statement on X. The service said it "dispatched 13 ambulances along with specialized resources" to the crime scene.
They also shared that eight people, whose names and ages remained unidentified, were treated for various degrees of stab wounds.
The statement then shared that the victims were transported to multiple hospitals, including the Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Aintree University Hospital, and Southport and Formby Hospital. There's been no further update from the Ambulance service or news of any more fatalities.
Alder Hey Children's Hospital also released a statement on Monday, declaring it a "Major incident."
The hospital confirmed that all medical personnel are "working with other emergency services to respond to this incident." They also shared that the hospital's emergency department is "currently extremely busy" attending to the victims.

Since the news of the incident made headlines, people have taken to social media to express outrage at the violent crime.
On X (formerly Twitter), one person wrote, "A 17-year-old boy targets a Taylor Swift-themed party for young kids, and you want us to believe we don't have a terrifying problem with femicide and misogyny in this country. The radicalisation of young men online is not a new concept. And yet, at every level, we fail to stop it."
Another person said, "I don't know how to exist in a world where someone wants to enter a Taylor Swift-themed event aimed at 5-10-year-old children and proceed to stab them to death. i can't even begin to imagine the pain that the families of the victims are going through. harrowing."
